What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Howdy, Porcheteers! Did I miss anything?

I went up to NYC at the beginning of December for Mom's 90 birthday. Had a great time. Picked up my first case of Covid for a souvenir. 🤒🤬 Feeling better now.

I'm carrying a set of piano key covers today:

😍 for Mom's birthday and the knives - sorry to hear you got Covid. I hope you are well again soon!

Oh, man, gotta get on that. Lambsfoots (lambsfeet?) really are a great pattern.

And not just any lambfoot, one of Jacks beauties! 🎉
Yep. My KOTY - as I said in that thread, I acquired some other great knives this year (including the pictured mini copperlock), but the HHB was easily the KOTY for me this year.

Great job on that rehandle. I made some guitar pics out of Buffalo horn years back.

Great pics of your '19 Gary !
Thanks! How did they hold up?
Great looking knives.
The river does have a fishy look to it.
Thanks, Rick. Yeah, I should go fishing more than I do…
One of these days!

When I realized you has been AWOL, I just figured you were visiting Mom for Hanukkah. Hope it was a blessed holiday for you and Mom! My own Dad just hit 90 late last month ~ let’s hope their longevity can be inherited.

Some Budding/Grafting knives were made of Elephant tooth, or Walrus tusk. Does yours have a file-worked spring?

Synthetics were also used as on table-knives.
Morning Will.
No filework on the spring, what is interesting is that the liner appears to be a "pocket" of brass one piece. The handle is also one piece, it is not two separate scales. It looks like they have made a slot in the handle material and then put in a drawn or folded piece of brass. pins look like silver.

So it's not acrylic, nice.so where you find
D this neat little grafting knife.ive Googled for an hour,it's killing me,you gotta have more information.
Hi Oldy,

I use a machine auction near where I live. I have found out that one of the old farmers was a knife collector. he sometimes puts for sale individual knives but the reserves are high so I don't bid, this was in a box of "junk knives" that I bought for $50. He seems to have a lot of pruners. The antler handled ones go for 6-700 dollars. I will be going again next week, I just got a nice old Diana Mod 24, and I will have a fondle of a few while I am there.

+ing to rfp.
Resin handle PALLARES with "leaf" blade. No "INOX" stamp anywhere.
I'm not sure if that means carbono or not.

The RR stockman was getting lonely I think ... no one to talk to but pocket lint. 😂😇
Carbon I reckon, usually patinas pretty fast
Oh boy! 🤞🤞🤞
Good Evening Porchsters,

I am up early in the morning working trying to create a week off next week, I have not cut anything with this knife to date, I don't even know what it is, one end is a shoe horn type set up. So here is tomorrows knife today. View attachment 2424798View attachment 2424800

Hi Oldy,
I cannot be sure, its very heavy, seems too heavy for bone.
There's a high likelihood it's ivory
Everyone relax- stay calm! It's going to be okay - I have a lambsfoot!

Great to have you back Rachel, that's the big city for you! I hope your clash with Covid didn't spoil Hanukah, and that you had a nice time with your mom :)
