What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very dense fog this morning. Has something to do with the cold ice and snow on the ground and the warm (45º) air above it. Not being a weather guy, I just go with the flow and accept that explanation from our weather guy who never gets his forecasts right. This Buck 501 with Burgundy Burlap Micarta covers will do for today. Sausage and eggs for breakfast.

Ed, they predicted 13+” of snow ~ we only got 9”. They predicted an overnight low of -13f, it was -16 when we got up at 5:30. I guess they’d say that their Oija board and Magic Eight Ball were spot on. On average.E61347DC-6BFF-4BB6-832C-42CB7825F6B9.jpeg
Got a furnace service guy out. It’s only a year old, but it keeps shutting off after less than a minute. I left him on the phone with tech support trying to decipher the cut out codes to run to the Post Office, and Menards to buy a couple back-up furnace filters.
It’s kind of ironic. I used to haul propane in Missouri’s Lake Of The Ozarks area back in the ‘80s. And I serviced gas furnaces, water heaters, and stoves, too. Nine time out of ten, when a customer called about something not working, a little strip of emery cloth I carried in my shirt pocket was all I needed, because the thermocouple had some soot on it, did not get hot enough from the pilot light, so it wouldn’t allow the gas valve to open. The one in ten was because they ran out of gas.🫢

Same with cars back then. Running rough? Scrape the points clean with your pocket knife, and good to go.

Now, when I look at the guts of a modern furnace, or under the hood of my car, I have no clue.

Totin a 111mm Victorinox, which really fits my hand perfectly, and this sweet little Country Cousin in silky smooth delein that Paul Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 kindly gave me.484906A8-0D01-4ADE-B502-B7D82328F408.jpeg3C6E892D-6552-4C35-B0A6-381DD5E9A445.jpeg

I hope the heat issue was resolved Jeff.
I always enjoy Paul's surprises.

Camo Hercules?
Looks well loved. 😁👍
It’s only two layers: main blade on one, can and bottle openers in the other. They used to call it the Nomad, then re-imagined it to be The Picnicker. I guess they figure people open wine jugs on picniks?
The only wear is on the camo handles. Somebody scratched off whatever was written on that little panel. The blade is virginal, which is the main thing I look for in used knives.

Not yet. He’s called for reinforcements.
It’s not too bad in the house ~ low 60s. I’ll just haul in a bunch more firewood.

Paul, you must look like Sasquatch with half a dozen sweaters on! :D Hope you're keeping warm buddy :)

Works of art by Mr & Mrs @waynorth :)

Your spot on Jack:thumbsup: Back when I worked out in this weather, it was a T-shirt, sweatshirt, Hoodie, freezer jacket and a heavy Carhartt Jacket, then below the belt, boxers, long underwear, two pairs of shocks with a pair of insulated snow bibs to top off my entire ND cold weather ensemble;)

Great Waynorth Lambfoot my friend:)
Thanks for sharing some of your reactions to your Rosecraft knives, Paul.:thumbsup::cool:
Stay warm out there!

Good points all Jeff Amir Fleschwund Amir Fleschwund - Back in the day, I used to carry a tool box full of tools in my truck for emergencies. Now all I carry is a cell phone. Don't stand a chance out on the road without one.
