What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I love everything about this picture! 😍 Always love the Texas Camp, but that old RR is spectacular!
Thanks! I have a soft spot for 1911s, and this one carries just as good as any newer ones. Trigger isn't as good as some newer ones, but it functions just fine.

Picked it up from the CMP and after some FOIA letters was able to get some history on it. It is a late war, 1945, production which likely never went overseas during the war, and appears to have been put in service somewhere stateside based on some other close serial numbers. Later on it pops up at Guantanamo Bay, where it spent most of its service life, before being shipped to Crane, Indiana for what I assume was storage at the arms depot prior to its transfer to the CMP for sale to the public.

Carrying my 66 this week.

Still carrying the A. Wright sheepsfoot, and added in yesterday's mail call: this little tiny Imperial.

Snap on the Imperial is good, everything is tight, but it's clearly been sharpened with a grinder by someone without the skill to do that well. Still quite usable, though. I've always found these all-metal knives to be charming, so thought I'd check one out.

I’ve got a soft spot for 1911’s as well, but I don’t have anything like that! That’s a beautiful specimen, with a great history! Thanks for sharing, Ellis! 😎

Couldn't get outside for a proper photo shoot yet today, so pardon the less-than-optimal lighting. These two in my pocket make me happy, very happy 😁

The jigging on those lambs is my favorite that GEC has done, very nice!
Back from town and looking spiffy with my new haircut. Since I'm looking so spiffy, I've taken up a bone covered Remington Mini Trapper to polish things off.

Great shot, Ed. You have more hair than me and I’m just over half your age. 🤣. The mini trapper is a fine knife.

That's great you were able to find out those details on that old Remington! J.M.B would be happy to see it still going & appreciated after all these years 👍

Has anyone tried searching this thread (or any thread, for that matter) today?

I did, and I can't get the Search results to show anything more recent than last night, even though I've tried searching for myself and a couple of other members who have posted today. Am I the only one having this problem?

This has happened at least twice before - kind of an annual bug.
FWIW, I put a post describing the "errors" I've discovered in the Tech Support forum.

I haven't tried searching this thread. I've just got a few notification updates right now. Sorry I can't be more help.

Those imperials really great! I didn't realize they came in a clip point too. Mine has one for the strongest springs of the traditional knives I own. I hope you enjoy yours!

Mr Primble Primble posted a picture of his Ulster Barlow this morning and that enabled me to carry one today . Mr. Primble Primble is also from Kentucky and that reminded me that Ky. is the Blue Grass state , so I put one of those in the other pocket . Not a good day today to do photos but I found some that I took back in 2019 . I really like these two knives and they kind of go together . Something tells me that they were both made in the same place .
