What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Any chance we could see some more pics of that 99 (I think)??? 🤔 3 3/4" lock-back clip??? That one talks to me!! 🤤

Pictured below, and yep it is a #99. I think they may have called them the “Wall Street”? Hopefully someone will correct me if I am wrong :)

Cool pics Steve :cool: :thumbsup:

Thanks Tom, I hope you enjoyed the hockey :) :thumbsup:

Thanks Jack! Enjoyable game, the Knights were victorious :). We are trying for a better position in the rankings before the playoffs begin next week. Which is an incredibly weird thing to write when referring to a bunch of 12 year-old hockey players, but whatever the games are fun ;)

Love the Albers you posted today, Yowza :thumbsup: :thumbsup::thumbsup:
Tom, most "basic" canoes are VERY similar: 3 5/8" closed, same frame shape, spear/pen blade combo; main difference seems to be handle material/color and blade steel. So you can probably get a good idea of whether you like the pattern from almost any canoe.
I'd forgotten about your cool little AG Russell scout - nice! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Thanks GT! I really like the ram’s horn example you posted.

These two today.

Jaw dropper Jim !!! 😲 😲 😲 :thumbsup:☺️
Fantastic bone color too !

Very nice piece of cutlery Jim.👌

Many thanks, gents! 😊

I think Shayne Carter does absolutely fantastic work -- and, his Damascus blades are truly works of art. I am especially a fan of his Feather Damascus pattern. To the best of my knowledge, Shayne doesn't do a lot of slipjoints -- focusing instead primarily on fixed blades -- so, I feel extremely lucky to have come across this one.

Stag and bone set the tone! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Your Keen Kutter Kattle Knife is like a breath of fresh air! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

How do you like the Tribal Lock so far? I was pleasantly surprised by how much I enjoyed carrying one.
Your CV whiskey bone version is VERY visually appealing! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

"Can't you see what that woman been doin to me?" ;)

Your 88 sowbelly is definitely an ace! :cool::cool::thumbsup:

Congrats, Vince! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
I think of the Recruit as sort of the "Mother of ALL SAKs".

Cool Case canoe closing in on a half-century! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Congrats on finding your first knife; it's a beauty! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Jack; both stag canoes are a little bit mysterious to me, too. :):thumbsup:

I DO like it, and I'll ask you what I always used to ask my daughter when she was little: How did you come up with that?? 🤓:thumbsup::thumbsup:
(For example,
1) used a calculator/computer/phone/abacus/other technology
2) Doubled 44 to 88, doubled again to 176, so that's 4 x 44; add another 44: 176+4+40 = 180+40 = 220
3) (40+4) x 5 = 40 x 5 + 4 x 5 = 200 + 20 = 220
4) 44 x 5 = 44 x 10 ÷ 2 = half of 440 = 220)

Cool RR! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:
Does Jack like the whistle?

Both are vintage and vibrant! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
What are the covers on each? (My guess is the top one is horn?)

Agreed! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

Did you notice that all the quotes were from posts that were at least a week old? I have a procrastination problem. :rolleyes:
I wonder if I'll get a commemorative plaque for "my record"?? 😁

Wow! Those don't show up here very often! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I played city league slo-pitch softball against (and with) some guys that probably should have been in prison, but never played an actual inmate team. ;)

:thumbsup:🤓

You're a successful researcher, José! :thumbsup::thumbsup:🤓

I have a couple of Case knives with Wharncliffe blades that are quite lamb-like, as on your Rancher. Here's one on a copperhead:

Thanks for the extra info about your Maserin; I really liked the checkered handle.
Couple of fine vintage knives! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks, Bob. :thumbsup:🤓
I like the horn on those Jokers, but it's not as "dressy" as the distinguished horn on the Bruckmann you sent me.

Thanks, Jack. :) (I rarely see that 3-word combo.:rolleyes:)

Our SBJrs are definitely different shades, but what I like about both of them is that the color of each is so uniform end-to-end. :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
I have a couple of chestnut Cases that almost "fade to white" near the bolsters, which I don't care for as much.

Yessir, we have the same born on date. I’ll be 49 on Wednesday.

Congrats on that big fancy Robeson stockman, Greg! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

You're welcome, Gary. I've purchased 4 Maserin knives, 2 sodbusters as gifts to my brothers and 2 hunters for myself. All well built IMO. 👍

I've been absent for a few days. Carried two old bone handled knives the past three days, Remington swell end and a Robeson sleeveboard.

Today I'm tote'n a Marbles faux tortoise copperhead and a Winchester sleeveboard pen knife. View attachment 2483296

Did some mattress shopping with the wife this morning and then went to watch our 4 yr old granddaughter do gymnastics. After that we took the pooch to the dog park for a good run through the muck, (him not us). ;)
Hope all here are having a pleasant Sunday.
Now I need to scroll though the pages of the Porch and see what I've missed this past couple days.

Thanks for the Marshall Tucker Band interlude! Although countless songs consist of nothing more than D, C and G, this is a great one.
Toy Caldwell was one of the greats, and like George Benson, he picked only with his right thumb.
Although he passed way too soon, I think he got a taste of Heaven playing through four cranked Fender Twin Reverbs!
I've watched that Marshall Tucker live video countless times in the past, When my daughters ask what music was like when I was a teen in the 70's I show them that video and The Bands 'Last Waltz'. Then I tell them we really did dress and look like that as well. 😁
