What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I know it’s not a knife…yet. But I got confirmation from the knife maker that my antler breezed through US customs and is at his door.
Might open up the door to helping out with a forum SFO if anyone ever needs some nice stag antler.

Anyway I’m excited to see how my knife progresses. We’re planning on using the young sambar pieces on the far left, if not then the dark thick piece of red stag on the top left.

As the sun was out for as fleeting minute I went to the bird reserve for the first time in ages.

I knew I didnt have to walk far to the first feeder and there was a bench.

It was badly fooded thats not a lake thats a field,the mud was sticky and slippy.

I started to put extra peanuts on the posts,my feet slid and then stuck in the mud my knees gave way and I went down.

Its barbed wire so I had nothing to grab onto.

I ended up on both knees, barbed wire had gone through my finger,my arms where outstretched, my new jacket was ripped and stuck to the barb wire.

It looked like a scene from a Hollywood serial killer movie with me in a supplication pose.

I shouted quietly for help not wanting to scare the birds,no one came so I shouted "Help" properly.

Thankfully 2 people walking by helped me up,but in true slapstick mode they nearly went down in the mud as well. 🤭


Most people would have gone home,but I waited till the throbbing in my finger went down,then put a plaster on and took photos.

Was it worth oh yes,it I saw all sorts,had a comfy bench to take photos from and a hot flask for coffee and biscuits.

Towards the end a Sparrow Hawk appeared I must have seen him at least 8 times dive out of the woods and attack the birds on the feeder.

He was successful a few times,but he was so fast I only got one blurred photo of him.

The way he banked and turned like a Spitfire was amazing.

A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon out in the country side.

Ive washed my clothes and will have a go at repeiring my jacket tommorow when its dry.

Cleaned up the cuts on my leg and I am good to go and do something stupid tommorow.🤣


Tools for today my Sudbuster sent to me by mr San Franciso fanatic and my little Lumberjack a perfect country combo.

I love days like these. 😍
