33 and Handyman again. That’s all I took to the show yesterday to remind me I already have all the knives I “need”.
Hey. I tried.

Good morning.

Loved this post. After the sunset I posted about yesterday, this reminded me that there is always a sunrise!! ❤️

THANK YOU to everyone for your wishes of condolence and peace. They mean a lot. The internet can be a cruel and vile place, but The Porch is everything that’s good about the web. A community not in the strictest sense of the word, but with the same friendship and support. Thank you all!!

Well, it's been a heck of a week. Since last Monday, I completely lost my swallow except for thin liquids. I've even had to crush and dissolve all medicines to take them so, it's been coffee and my liquid diet chow.

Things are looking up a bit this morning and I may try pureeing sausage and scrambled eggs in our Vitamix blender this morning.

The highlight of the week was that I got my truck out of the shop. Had to put a new fuel pump and fuel filter in it and had the break pads on all four corners replaced. Cost me $1300.00 for the whole shebang - Can't help but think of all the cans of Spam I could have bought for that kind of money. Saaaayyyyyy, I wonder if I can puree Spam in the Vitamix?

I'll be carrying the Sod Buster Jr. pictured above as it's the knife I always carry when on my Nestle Fibersource.

Don’t focus on the knife in this picture today. The focus is the sunset from our family lake house. Life is full of sunsets … some painful … all beautiful in their own way. I had previously posted about my son’s wedding last weekend. It was a wonderful celebratory weekend with the entire family; it couldn’t have been better. Sadly, as my oldest brother and his wife were making their way back north, he suffered a massive coronary event at the hotel in Atlanta. He was rushed to the hospital, but it took 45-60 minutes to restore a pulse. He never regained consciousness. He passed peacefully with our entire family by his side on Wednesday.

As the eldest of 5 boys, he set the standard as a son/brother/father/papa/uncle/friend. He was universally kind and accepting. We are broken, but drawing strength from our family and friends and relishing all the memories we have.

Life is short and fleeting … enjoy each day and don’t sweat the small stuff.

From 2 Timothy 4:7 - I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Rest in power my brother, my hero, my friend!

Condolences to you and your family on the passing of your brother. There may be an empty space at the table without him there but never in your heart.

Thanks for the reminder to be glad for simple things like being able to eat. Feel better, Buddy.

Miscellaneous Knife of the Week is a Rough Rider 1-arm trapper, one of the original set of 12 RR patterns with matching amber jigged bone covers I ordered about 10 years ago. Seems odd to put a "regular" second blade on a knife intended for a person who must open the knife one-handed.

Lambsfoot Knife of the Week is Black Jack, my Jack Black SFO ebony Guardians lambsfoot from 2018:

Very sorry.
May those sunsets put a smile on your face when your brother enters your memories.

Glad to see you back Ed.
I would go with....hard roll, egg and spam in vitamix.
