Thanks for the input on Ayn Rand's novel. The book is far better than the movie trilogy.
I feel they dropped the ball on movie #3.
However, it is a story that needs to be heard.
Nice knife! Got one of those and it's gotta man's pull also.
I haven't really seen much on Moore Maker knives, are they considered to be of good quality? There website doesn't list what steel they use on most of their traditional pocket knives which irks me.Glad to hear I’m not alone. Wonder if Moore Maker requested strong backsprings or if it just worked out that way.
Thanks for the input on Ayn Rand's novel.Maybe I should add it to my reading list (which is getting unrealistically long for me, if the actuarial tables are right.

Colonial/Imperial/Schrade Knife of the Week is an oriental Schrade 5OT Bruin:
The 5OT is a not-very-big lockback that I've become quite fond of since getting it a little over a year ago. Here's another lockback, about a quarter inch smaller thatblack mamba generously gifted me earlier this week that I'm already even more fond of:

I’m doing well, my friend, and thanks for asking! I had been back on the Tempurpedic 2 nights, but when the Covid cold hit me, I went back to the chair trying to keep Vik clear. Didn’t help. She and our daughter got it too, but fortunately it blew on through in about three days.Sorry to hear that you and your dad have come down with COVID, Jeff! Hope you both can beat it soon. Had you mostly recovered from your fall (and got back sleeping in your own bed) before COVID hit you?

Makes me want to put on my mud boots and go for a walk.
Go thataway.
I first ran into that annoyance near Milwaukee’s downtown hospital. I complied, but lated removed their app from my phone. If people read the fine print before installing apps ~ tracking your location, address book, photos, etc. a lot less people would be downloading “free” apps.![]()
Happy Wooden Wednesdays Porchafarians! Just picked kid up from school in downtown KC, all of the on-street parking is now pay via app only (smartphone req'd to park) and suddenly vigorously enforced. I refuse to do the car line thing. So in an ironic twist, the closest "free" parking I can now find is in Epsteins Hardware's lot. Been wanting this leather hammer awhile anyways...
They only knives that have folded and cut me in dirty jobs are modern lockers, so I like strong slip joints or fixed blades.Had this one in my pocket today, a boy’s knife but wow does it ever have a man’s pull! Not a bad thing as it feels very solid when it’s open.

Besides trying to keep your fingertips clear, which is hard when the piece gets thin, remember to take off your wedding ring around power tools.Your vg-10 Douk Douk inspired me to carry my original Douk Douk today. It really is one of my favorite pocket knives. How does the original compare to the vg-10 version of you don't mind me asking?
Also got the scales flattened out after much "fun" with a bench top belt sander yesterday. I managed to file a nail unexpectedly with it, but don't worry, I found my work gloves right after I was done.
I resemble that cartoon, Cal.

Ribcage is much better. I can move, and it only hurts when I press it.

I am sorry to hear about your losses, it is never easy. I am glad you have some knives to help remember your grandfather by. My dad passed a few years ago, and his knives always bring me a smile. He is the one who infected me with knife-love-itis incidentally. The family & I have been going through some of my late grandparent's estate. My grandfather passed a little while back & as some of you know we recently lost my grandmother. (Thanks for all the support btw) In addition to the Imperial Barlow & the Queen whittler of my grandfather's I ran across this Imperial Kamp-King in his shop. Working on cleaning it up now & going to pocket it for the rest of the day

Thank you. I'm sorry to hear you lost your dad, I can't imagine how hard that must've been. I've been blessed that my dad is still around. Like you my dad has been very influential with my love of good knives & quality firearms. I'm glad you have fond memories with your dad & some mementos from him.I am sorry to hear about your losses, it is never easy. I am glad you have some knives to help remember your grandfather by. Its a strong pull with a great snap although I don't find it to be obnoxiously so, unlike an A. Wright I have that's so stout I won't carry it. I don't want to have to work that hard every time I want to use my knifeHad this one in my pocket today, a boy’s knife but wow does it ever have a man’s pull! Not a bad thing as it feels very solid when it’s open.

Moore Maker doesn't make any of their knives. Over the years they have had them made by Camillus, Queen, Canal Street, Bear and probably others. The Moore Maker boys knives above are Canal Streets and are of fine quality. There's a Moore Maker thread around here somewhere.I haven't really seen much on Moore Maker knives, are they considered to be of good quality? There website doesn't list what steel they use on most of their traditional pocket knives which irks me.
Lovely wood on that one, Jose
