What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

That is some crazy nice Ironwood (maybe?) on that Albers! He always uses top grade stuff.

Eric called it "Spalted White Oak Burl" ........... but the wood just keeps getting darker. 😊
I'm getting worried about all of them critters on it disappearing.🤔🤔😱🤣
I agree with you though.😊
I need to take new pictures of it .......... before the critters are gone.

I've been getting into making leather goods as a hobby/side business. Today I made my first knife sheath for this Japanese style skiving knife.

Very nice I love messing around with leather. Did you hand stitch the sheath? I punch and sew all by hand.
Yessir! I hand punched, hand stitched, and hand burnished. I don't think I'll ever machine stitch since it's not as robust. I did a saddle stitch with two back stitches on each end. I even put a welt all the way along the stitch so the knife will never cut the stitches.

Off to go weed wacking with a Buck 301 in my pocket (1992 flat ground version). The weeds are tall after all the rain we've had in So Cal. I'll need to be extra vigilent during the pre-whacking poo patrol. I shall report out later in the lounge on how well I did on the patrol.
