Yes indeed, the burlap is the people’s choice!Jon, I'm glad you get to enjoy the time with your clan. Life is good when they are having fun.
Capable duo today.I need to carry my burlap more.
Now that puberty has kicked in around here your words are hitting home big time! I’m soaking it up as much as I canGreat post, enjoy the special times, the time flies and before you know it they will all be out on their own. All five of ours flew the coop long ago, and I really miss having them around.
pneumerically, i b closer to 90 than 47 and under ...
do that count?
physically ...
In 1985 my then current and brand new now ex wife sent me to her chiropractor and orthopedic surgion.
After taking full "body" x-rays and looking at them, he told me (quote)
"You know, Steve? ... Your walking around pretty G.D. good for a guy that's 185 years old!!!" (end quote) I was 35 in 1980.
At that time (unlike now) I did not require a rollator walker nor a cane.
I don't QUITE require a wheelchair... yet
... maybe in another two or three years
...
I have planned ahead and taken a few steps for that eventuality.
For 1, bcause of my left wrist having virtually no flexability, left arm rougnly only 7 or 8 inches shorter than "normal" (right is only 3 or 4 inches shorter than "normal") using a wheelchair like a "normal" "person"/"human" by rotating the wheels by hand will be ... "difficult" at best ...
I talked to my Doctor, and got a prescription for a powered wheelchair.
Medi-Care/SSDI won't spring for it yet ... I can still walk the 70 foot or less internal length of the building.
He also told me he had replaced bad hips and knees that were in MUCH better condition than mine. He could not replace mine "until they improve" (I almost asked him "Why? Do you plan on installing them in someone else?")
Since what I have is a genic defect, my knees, hips, (and all other joints), and spine (it resembles the letter "S" from front, rear and sides in the x-rays) will/can only get worse.
I'nn never get new ones. If nothing else, I've heard that while flexibility and strength DO improve, the pain from the operation is a part of your "life" until you leave for the next life.
Having had an operation on my right knee and hip to remove some bone spurs, I am aware of how severe the post op "ow" is.
I'm told "Morphine is not an option until you enter Hospice."
That being the case ... forget it..
I had a left hip replacement several years ago and now one leg is shorter than the other but I’m in no pain. My doc told me that going in. Now I use a cane to help me move around. Which is okay. The positive is if you’re in a wheelchair at the airport you get the express treatment going through security.I kept trying to find an emoji for that, but, none seemed right. Hang in there my friend !![]()

Sounds like a great weekend, Jon, and surprisingly similar to my life right now. My son and daughter are also excelling in baseball and track and growing up quickly. So fun to watch!Enjoying a great weekend. These kids are growing up! Y’all said they would. Sam crushed it in his opening baseball game. This is his first year playing baseball - it was my sport growing up, but he has never been interested. He’s picked everything up so fast. He got on base twice, one hard hit single, one walk, and caught a deep fly ball in left to seal the game in the last inning. He was high as a kite coming off the field. So proud of him.
And Marcie went to her 8th grade formal dance. Gah. I wasn’t ready for the big girl dress and heels and.
Life is good. I’ve been motoring around with Joseph this morning picking up some new shrubs to plant. I have the day off today and will be getting as dirty as possible.
Track meet tomorrow for Livie. It will be fun to see her crush the competition for one more year in the mile. Next year she moves up a division and will be humbled!
There’s the McD update. Have a blessed Sunday!

Thanks Mitch. The maker actually flattened the curve of the spine for me. It looked like it had a hump at first.Great blade profile Bob![]()
