What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

We make the trip a couple of times a year to New York City. A stop at the Grand Central Station Oyster Bar is always on our agenda. My wife is no fan either but there are always a few things we do that aren't my cup of tea.
That's awesome. I would love to get a chance to eat there one day, unfortunately I'm nowhere near NY (I'd have to hop on a plane just to eat at that restaurant 🤣)
It's funny you mention the Grand Central, my mother inlaw gifted me this a couple of years ago 😎

What with a couple of fires within 25-miles of the house, we're sticking close to home today. We've got all our groceries in with plenty of water should the power to the pump house go so we're in good shape. The B&S 5500 Watt generator is ready to go should it come to that. Of course I've got a ton of knives ready to put in service but I'm carrying this old and abused, returned to service, Buck 112 on my hip today. It kinda looks like a "Sad Sack" but it's a tough knife with plenty of service left in it. Sausage and eggs for breakfast.

The 112 as it arrived. Looked like someone had jumped a starter solenoid with the blade tip.

After a professional  Modoc ED spa treatment. Reground the edge as best I could and it now cuts like a greased lightning.

We've got that Cookbook! We picked it up at the restaurant a few years ago! It's got some good recipes. Another thing about the Oyster Bar is that they make the BEST Bloody Mary I've ever had!

Very cool to see that knife brought back to life. Interesting that it has no nail nick - I tend to associate that (perhaps incorrectly) with custom shop and limited edition 112s. It'd be fascinating to know the backstory on this one.

If you flip that $2 bill over and look at the picture of the men seated, in the center of the group you'll see Mr. James Hanson, the first black president of the U.S. Actually, there was no separate Office of The Presidency back then (during the days of the Continental Congress), there was only President (Pro Temp) of The Congress, who also acted (temporarily) as the Executive, aka the President, of the U.S. That means Barack Obama was NOT the first black president. Just sayin'...
