What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

If you flip that $2 bill over and look at the picture of the men seated, in the center of the group you'll see Mr. James Hanson, the first black president of the U.S. Actually, there was no separate Office of The Presidency back then (during the days of the Continental Congress), there was only President (Pro Temp) of The Congress, who also acted (temporarily) as the Executive, aka the President, of the U.S. That means Barack Obama was NOT the first black president. Just sayin'...
That’s interesting.

Very cool to see that knife brought back to life. Interesting that it has no nail nick - I tend to associate that (perhaps incorrectly) with custom shop and limited edition 112s. It'd be fascinating to know the backstory on this one.

Tyson Tyson A Wright Tyson A Wright - Not a custom. The knife was manufactured prior to 1976. Here's the info on that knife. No nail nicks until 1980.

😍 that Harness Jack. I bought two two dollar bills when they came out. They had consecutive serial numbers. Bit alas they were stolen years ago.
Thank you and I’m sorry to hear that David! I have a local BBQ joint that regularly gives these out as change, as well as 50-cent pieces. Not rare or anything but it’s pretty neat.

Nice 112.
So a version 4?
I'm guessing the versions 1; 2; and 3 had 1/8" inlay rivets, like my c.1975 two dot two pin V5V5 110?

sorry. No picture of that 110 ... EVER!
(1) I don't have access to it.
(2) A previous owner used a Dremel or something to engrave something in (Mexican?) Spanish*, at least 1/8" deep. S/He also managed to break the tip, reprofile and "sharpen" the blade with what I'm guessing was the same Dremel, AND get a chip half the length and a bit over half the height on the mark side cover. 😭
(*"Mexican" Spanish is NOT the same Spanish spoken in Spain, any more than England, and the USA speak the same English.)

A Buck Spa is not an option. Repair of the bolsters will require brazing over the "engraving", which they won't do. (I did ask.)
(Thinking about it, I doubt they have a welding/braizing torch, for 1 thing. Not having anyone who knows how to braze/brass weld is another possibility.)
Grinding the bolsters smooth is the only option, which would make the knife too skinny. 🤨

Also, due to dementional changes over the years, a new 420HC blade with current tang stamp may not fit.
(Buck ran out of the original 440C blades a couple score ago.)
Even with the offer of additional money, the won't put in a current 440C/BG48/S30V/CPM154/ or 5160 blade. 425HC is the only option.
I asked about that too. Tho transplanting the CPM 154 blade from my spare SK BLADES 'Smoke Jumper' was a potential option ... if it will fit.

Since I already have four with 420HC (and access to two) ... why bother?
$10 at the pawn shop. I figure it has earned its retirement, as abused as it is.☹️
