I love that cleaver! The tapered tang is perfect!

I just got this new Case Barlow in and promptly modified the pen blade into a sheeps foot because it was too long for the knife.

I took what I could get on the ugly grey bone because I wanted carbon steel and plan to change that ugly color, but I'll just carry it for now while I decide what color I'm going to change it too.

I think the gray bone looks great!

It's an 834 weekend.
I bought these a few years ago to compare the Taylor Schrade build quality to that of the US Schrade. I found the build quality to be there, but the knives are actually different. The Taylor design primarily offsets the blades instead of crinking the sheepsfoot. I actually prefer offset blades to crinked. With an offset design, the sheepsfoot blade is in line with the handle instead of canting off to the side. Makes it easier to cut in a straight line.

Today, it's the one on the top. US Schrade.

Thanks, Bob. :) I also like the blade shape, although I'm not a big fan of a saber grind.

Thanks for the kind words about my knives, Jeremy. :)
I've never tried opening a can with that combo can/bottle opener on the work knife. Bonus tool not shown in my photo: the pile side of the main blade has a little ruler on it!

Interesting description of the taste of Vernors. As a Michigan native, I've had it, but that was probably at least 50 years ago, so I don't remember its taste. I almost never drink soft drinks anymore, except for Mountain Dew on long drives when I need the caffeine.

I've heard that there are places "down South" where the generic name for soft drinks is "coke".

Your Viper looks to have a deadly sharp tooth! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Your Sabre camp knife is very appealing, José! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:
Is that a recent find?

Outstanding pair, Jeff; I always admire the walnut on your TEW! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Great bone/jigging on your '32 stockman, Chris! :cool::cool::thumbsup:
But I have a strong preference for rounded bolsters over square, so I'd take a Case '18 stockman over a '32 in a heartbeat. ;)

That's a great blade/frame combo, Bob! :thumbsup::cool::cool:
I'm sure you're not alone in wishing for Fall, Bob, but I'm not joining you in that wish. I wait about 8 months (October through May) for warm weather to return - I much prefer temps in the 80s and 90s to temps in the 50s and 60s (or lower).

Sorry to read about your AC problems, Mike. 😲:thumbsdown:
Hard to believe we got AC for our house fewer than 20 years ago. And although my wife has had vehicles with AC since 1989, and we'd use those for family trips, my solo driving was always in vehicles without AC until 2010, I think.

Striking horn covers, LT! :cool::thumbsup::cool:
Do they really have "ridges and valleys" or is that an optical illusion caused by the "feathering" in the horn?

Frank, I'm very happy with my pocket worn harvest orange bone humpback stockman, but your ebony version is a step up in classiness IMHO! :thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:
Speaking of "similar vein", your humpback and my Imperial stockman I posted the same day both appear to be photographed on old wooden pallets.😁

Cool photo and knife! :cool::thumbsup::thumbsup:

Notable pair of European knives! :thumbsup::cool::thumbsup:

Cool photos! :cool::cool::thumbsup: Your sunset photo reminds me of a sunrise over the Mediterranean photo I took in Denia Spain almost 10 years ago:

Your color change on that Winchester canoe's bone is splendid! :thumbsup::cool::cool:

That's pretty weird and wonderful! :cool::thumbsup::cool:

I agree with Bob; even though I have a rubber mallet that would probably be the right tool for the job, I don't think I have the guts to try the centering mod. o_O:oops: Good work, Chris! I also think the stag on your trapper is very typical of "contemporary Case stag" which tends to be rather smooth and creamy. Not my first choice of stag characteristics, but still good stag IMHO.:thumbsup::thumbsup::cool:

Thanks mate,
The lamb was a generous gift from Paul Jakeywax31 Jakeywax31 that is a regardless by glennbad glennbad 😎
The Sabot in Blackwood i recently picked up from an Aussie collector.

Oh yeah we call soda soft drinks.
You usually get asked want a coke or something else coke is the most popular. If you ask for soda, you would probably get straight soda
water. Although the youngters seem to live on energy drinks, my youngest does.

OMG ! … you killed the beaver ! ….. errr, what I meant to say was you dyed the beaver ! 🦫
;)😍😍😍:thumbsup:

#74 … is that the air temp or how many Crappie you caught ? 🤣🐳
Mr. Primble Primble you wouldn’t happen to be an informant to the Virginia Department of Game and Inland Fisheries? Just asking for a friend. Anyway, I deny any knowledge of a beaver or any crappie therefore could not make a statement about said animals. 😳
