What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Went Thrifty Thursday stainless today with this Rough Rider sowbelly for work and a bit of target practice at the end of the day. A cheap knife that came very sharp with good snap and pretty decent F&F has to be used from time to time. :) Amber bone originally but I dyed it with brown and black RIT, maybe 6-7 yrs ago.

Carpentry carry for today. Holiday weekend in sight!

A large Hardware Company located in Cleveland, Ohio during the last half of the 1800's and first half of the 1900's. Looking at the knife closed, it was likely a spear main blade. Very likely that the end of the blade was snapped off when somebody tried to pry something. 🤬

Somebody has tried to re-profile it into a sheepsfoot due to the broken blade and sharpening wear. If it still sharpens up and is a useable knife ............ why not ? 🤔😊
Exactly my thoughts about usefulness. in fact, whoever did snap this off and repurpose the blade I think they did a pretty good job. A good blade to cut and that’s pretty much all we do with these old knives.😂 Thanks
Definitely not a virgin, but a hand tool that will last for a long more time…. if it’s respected🇺🇸
