What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Another less than ideal day in Upstate NY, although we are getting a few hours of blustery sunshine before the rain returns. Played around with a few knives today. Wrapped the Buck 143 in high-vis paracord and added a cheap spacer ‘bead’ from the hardware store. Also carried a couple of Queens and a Keen Kutter (that I suspect is fairly modern from Bear & Son).

This Queen is one of my favorites as I love how the scales (bonestag?) have aged.

As I have said before, I love knives with stories to tell and this one is saying ‘my previous owner got drunk one night and did a real number on my blades!’ Yikes!! The picture doesn’t do justice to the damage.

Big night tonight as both the Guardians (Indians) and Bills are in action!! I am dressed accordingly!

Well I’ve been carrying the moose off and on for the past 2 falls but really hadn’t done much with it.

From 2018 until 2022 it pretty much lived in its tube. Fall 2022 I decided to start carrying it and others that I wasn’t carrying.

Today I decided it was time for it to stop just being pocket jewelry and get actually used some. My wife wanted fried potatoes tonight so I thought it was a wonderful opportunity. I use to always cut potatoes with my carbon camping knives to get a good patina. So the work has started.👍

It’s time to make it mine.👍
