What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Reads and looks like a great trip.
My worries are with the baggage handlers, not so much TSA. I have a Buck 110LT that goes in the bag. If stolen, a quick trip to an outdoor store and I am back in business.
Nice score on the Barlow.
Thanks, we had a great time up there. That was partially my plan anyway to pick up something when we landed. "Oh hey, honey, I didn't bring a knife with me on this trip... yes me... I guess I'll just have to pick one up in town...sigh..." 😉😂

I just clumped the TSA & baggage handlers in the same group. The bag would be out of my sight & control while they have the keys to it to open up at their discretion, good or bad. I'm not trying to dump on the TSA though. They're a lot of good people who work there. As with any place though there's always a bad apple or two that messes things up.

I didn't mention before but I also found an Imperial Kamp-King that was in great shape at the same antique store. It's the same model I inherited from my grandfather. I didn't take pics of it yet though, I didn't think of it at the time. Waiting on them to be delivered by the post office this week 🤞

Victorinox Knife of the Week is a plastic-handled stainless utility knife. I'd call it a paring knife with a little extra length to it; 4" blade, 8.5" overall length. I have a sheath it fits in, but I think it's too long for pocket carry. Probably just put it in the bag I carry this week, and put the knife back on the kitchen counter after the week is over. It's the top knife in photo below.

Stockman of the Week is a Buck 373, the last knife my late father-in-law carried. Full disclosure: it's on my rotation schedule for this week, but I've kept it in my pocket almost all the time for the past couple of years for sentimental reasons.

I have done things like that as well.
I understand. There are good and bad apples in both baskets. Legally check and handgun and the concerns grows exponentially. Delta now flags the bags with handguns. Why not put a flashing light on it as well?
Looking forward to photos of the Kamp-King

Jeff, I've never had to survive on a ramen noodle diet, thankfully!
I think guitar parts are a worthy substitute for more knives!
Thank you! After all, it’s not like I spent the mortgage and grocery money, or otherwise wasted it.
Sunday carry was the little elk 309 again and the cadet. The cadet doesn’t get photos much but it is almost always in my pocket no matter what else I carry. It’s just such a light slim package.View attachment 2684641
That is the fate of the faithful but often overlooked Swiss Army Knives.

As a resigned connisseur of delrin knife scales, I can easily spot that slightly lighter shade of yellow as opposed to that used by Schrade.
I’ve often thought the Yellow Jaket line would have been a good group to collect, but they seem to have quite high prices on the auction site.
Thanks for reminding me to bring in the rest before the expected First Frost comes this week!
Aren’t poblanos great? They’re the only hot peppers I can sneak into my cooking without complaint from the girls.
Couple of stunners, Rob. As well as today’s SCC!
That pay stub reminds me of the old dealer price lists ~ Wholesale Price: $7.00 for box of 12.
Great duo, David. Love the lines on the new Waynorth.
If someone is going to snap up all of the great old knives, I’m glad it’s a fellow Porchster who lets us see them!
Sticking with these.

In pouch: (Left to right, and in front of the Bunny knife)
Bunny Knife N°291; Robeson 622110; 2019 Guardian's Lam Foot; Toferner nonfilding Celtic/Norse/"Viking" pocket knife.
In pocket: Western 742 Stockman.
On a SAK belt hanger: SAK Year Of The Ox Huntsman.
In belt sheath: Western 062 two blade Folding Hunter.
The orange thig is my sheathed signaling mirror, also carried in the pouch.
None of the blades* are shiny enough for use as a signaling mirror. 😁👍
(*well ... maybe the Huntsman's are, but an actual mirror will probably work better for that if ever needed.
I’m just going to take a wild guess that whatever happens today, you are well equipped to deal with it.
It looks like you are ready to haft a knife with that bookmatched figured wood.

Absolutely agree! Great in the hand the Tonneau (Barrel) pattern , might be a bit crude in finish but that adds to appeal as the action and construction is excellent. You'll soon get a patina going from veggie prep and French carbon is sharp stuff .

I agree, I have the same knife but with an awl and saw and small blade. The action is a little rough but the design is great. The price point is very good.

I do love this time of year. If for no other reason than my self imposed obligation to the kitchen garden is winding down😗
One thing I hope to do is take apart and fix a couple of beat Schrade Cut. Co.s I found sinking in the ‘bay. A TL-29, and a 294 among others. Also a gorgeous Winchester Cattle I don’t know how to fix yet.

Ten minutes before it occured to me to take a picture, the angle of the sun had these sugar maples looking like they were on fire.
