I almost asked about for an explanation to appease my curiosity! Problem solved. Thanks, Chris.I like the design of jacks that have 1 big blade and 1 small blade, so I think of this particular mini trapper as being an "improved" mini trapper. It actually started life as a mini trapper with a clip blade and a cap lifter that Jeff @black mamba had, and he arranged to have the cap lifter swapped with the spey blade of a Case sowbelly stockman he had. That turned his sowbelly into his legendary Beerbelly Stockman. He generously sent me the clip/little-spey mini trapper "by-product"!!

How is the AG Russell? Is that In N Out? I wish I had eaten at one more than once when I was in California in 2023New AG Russel scout knife! And a bonus pic with it with the best fast food burger in America
DaRn. I wonder if a little JB Weld would get rid of the extra pull(s), if the blade was cleaned with alcohol to remove any oils.I like the RR carbon Folding Hunter very much, although it's "overkill" for the sorts of things I typically use it for when it comes up on my rotation schedule.
I know my photos aren't always very clear, Steve, and if your eyes are anything like mine, they don't always see everything there is to see. But if you look at that photo I posted this morning, you'll see that the folding hunter DOES have the silly "double pulls". Not a deal breaker for me, but certainly not a feature I welcome.

He looks almost real and almost unreal ............. but I don't reckon that you would let him be that close to your Halfrich if it was real. Kinda looks like he is down in a box though.![]()
Yes they are. There is one near our compound n as I’m from NE Ohio it’s a rare delicacy. Always animal styleIf I’m not mistaken, those look like “In and Out” burgers? Haven’t had them in many years. I was just talking to someone about them earlier this week. Nice Scout too! Lance
I have enjoyed it so far. With so few people makin the scout pattern overall I would say it’s a good example. I am not a big fan of the punch tho to be honest. Yes, it’s In N Out. Luckily, I have several stops out west in states where they are located. It is my favorite burger by farHow is the AG Russell? Is that In N Out? When I was younger (in Junior High and High School) we had a couple pet raccoons (and a ... "fully equipped" ... skunk. She ran away when she was about two), as pretty much indoor pets, at my now late mum's place. She and her (now late) hubby #2 lived out in the country, along one of the slews of the Mississippi River.Looks pretty good, doesn't it? I just got lucky fooling around with one of those photo apps.
No way I'd let that critter near my Rounder!![]()
Great write-up, Steve! The raccoons that hang around my place likely would have no interest in my knives. They do have an interest in my bird feeders and they crap on my roof! They give me plenty of target practice! They can really jump when a pellet or BB hits their butt. When I was younger (in Junior High and High School) we had a couple pet raccoons (and a ... "fully equipped" ... skunk. She ran away when she was about two, as pretty much indoor pets, at my now late mum's place. Their house (and those of their neighbors) were on stilts. Every spring they had to boat home.
As far as I know, the only time there was water in that house ("only" around 6.5 to 7.5 foot) was the record flood of 1965, about 3 or 4 years before they bought the place. While they lived there, they missed wet floors by about six inches a few times. If memory serves, their stilts were twelve foot. The riverbank was another 4.5 foot.
Anyway ... From experience I can tell you raccoons (and skunks) don't eat wood. Your Gerbil, pet mice/rats of any color, Guinea Pig, or Hamster, is much more likely to munch on wood. None of them munch on steel or other metals.
BTW, skunks like sacks and boxes as much, if not more than kitties. Several times, Sally, the skunk got out, and meandered over to the marina, about 2 miles away, taking the shortcut through the woods. We got calls from the marina to PLEASE come get Sally, cuz she was trying to hide in picnickers boxes and bags, and scaring them. They knew it was Sally by her collar.
Sally was "fully equipped" (able to spray) As far as I know, she never sprayed anyone. I know she got along with our 3 dogs. (Golden Lab, Irish Setter, and an "only the gods and demons knows"), and the cat.
Thanks. I’ve been surprised to see how much the blade patinas even thought it was pre etched.Thank you, he's a true artist!
I still love those copper Bokers, I need to get mine out again. Yours looks like it's wearing nicely around the edges!![]()
