What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Excellent, did you add some black with the red
Good question. No black was added, but there was some dark purple added to the red. Here is another picture of that knife in direct sunlight. It looks a lot more red and more translucent.

I think it maybe a sheepsfoot, but who knows?? Only because of the spine is flat. I have a half dozen or so Wolstenholm's from this era, and every hawkbills spine raises towards the tip.

This one came from a gentleman who's last name was Voos, in NW Ohio. He was parting with his 70+ year collection. He picked it up in the late 60's early 70's as an honest Pruner. I've been meaning to ask Neal about it but I'm too forgetful!
Initially I assumed it was a Pruner, then it looked like Sheepfoot-and cutlers may have made them to order- and your point about straight spine convinced me, plus the Swedge over the nick. Then looking closer and at the obvious re-bevelling etc I think it must be an altered Pruner as others pointed out ! Great knife whatever. Here's a picture-not mine nor is the knife sadly- of one with its more complete blade, straighter spine too I'd say?

Thanks for info the Will, and to everyone who spoke on my I*XL. I'm still fairly green when it comes to old knife tricks, so free educations are always welcome!

Hittin the road in a few for Klamath Falls, Oregon for yet another appointment with a doctor - this time for Cindy. Sausage and eggs before we go. This knife for the belt. This'll be a pucker factor trip as it's raining like crazy here and snowing like crazy there and along the way.

Drive safe Ed. I’ve ridden that stretch of highway often heading up to visit my brother. Of all that was during the summer.
