The Premium Stockman though, could use a bit of toning down. I've been thinking about dying it for a couple years, but haven't decided on Rit or the Fiebings leather dye. I'm not in a big hurry.

How about potassium permanganate?
I know that everyone will be carrying their new Lambsfoot today, possibly even pairing it with their City Stock. Two absolutely superb knives and worthy of pocket time.
I decided to wait a bit on the Lambsfoot honeymoon and instead pocket two other absolute beauties (my opinion)…the BF Humpback and the .38 Special Beavertail on this very, very cold and crisp morning. I hope my photo shows the feeling of just how crisp it is.

Happy hump day, Porchsters!
Nice! I’m also interested in how you dyed it.

Nice pics Mitch
That's funny! I finally decided to get off my butt, and I ordered some dark brown Fiebings right after I posted that this morning.I used the dark brown Fiebings leather dye. Cleaned it first with acetone and heated it up in a 200 degree oven for about five minutes a couple of times. It just keeps getting darker each time. I thought that I would give it a few days to set in or fully dry, then I'll swab on another coat or two.

Thanks guys! I more or less followed the steps laid out in one of the threads on here named “dyeing bone” I believe. I used RIT dark green dye for natural materials, but I’ve seen the synthetic work just the same. I filled a sauce pan with enough water to cover the knife standin on its spine. I pulled the blades out n taped em. Im not sure if that was necessary or not. I put the whole bottle of die in with a bit of salt n a few drops of dawn dish soap. I was not scientific with how much of either I put in. Brought it to a simmer, mixed it lightly n left it sittin til I got the saturation of color I was lookin for. Turned off the heat n let it cool a couple then pulled it out n let it air cool. Rinsed it thoroughly, polished n oiled up the blades n joints. I found the walk to be a lil bit sluggish at first but I flushed with water a couple times n re oiled a few times really workin the blades n the next mornin the walk n talk was back to how it was outta the tube. I am really satisfied with how it came out.Ditto, that looks great!
I was contemplating yesterday with all the dye talk about doing mine in a nice shade of green...
Do you care to share how you went about doing the dye job or any tips?
Great dye finish!
Gabe, I’m glad you are happy with your knife. This was the first 91 we worked on. It was exciting to see this one turn out like we wanted it to look. I wish I could’ve held onto it for longer to get more pictures. I’m definitely gonna try to pick up one of these 91 Stockman for myself to dye.First time carrying since receiving it fromTravman . I asked for a red wine color like a 70's Case. Travis absolutely delivered. I couldn't be happier with the results. Thank you Travis.
