What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

It was sunny to start 🌅 then it got dark 🌩️ then it stormed, so I had to take an indoor pic 📸. Then the power went out 😲
It was only out for an hour. I ran up to the grocery store in the interim.
The regularly scheduled poker game was supposed to be last week, but as three of us were unavailable, it didn't happen. We're going to play this evening. Being retired has advantages :D

The corn is looking good. It looked good in Illinois, Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee too 🌽
Took the Slim Shuffler with me to pick up the mail. Stopped by Ralph's house on the way back. This is his driveway.

Bet it looks different after the combine does it's job.
I gave this old Robeson a good cleaning and put an edge on the remaining blade.

For some reason, your post reminded me of the one eyed dog named Lucky.
Great save, Rachel.
These two today : Case Trapper 4 & 1/8 long and Kissing Cranes Gunboat , or LARGE Canoe with 3 blades , 4 & 1/4 long and carried in a slip . Really like the Trapper . The Canoe was made in 1977 and is way heavier than the Trapper .

I have no idea why the shield is not straight . But it is tight .

All in all it is a very made well knife which has no visible Blade Rub . Got it this year at the Badger Blade show for a price cheaper than the I just paid for the Case Trapper. I probably will never use it , but I will carry it .
The Trapper has been and will be a pretty regular carry for me .

Harry
I agree ~ the regular size Case Trappers make a great all around knife. And yes to heavy, solid knives as well, Harry.
Speaking of heavy solid knives...

A break in the heat, only 90° today.🥶View attachment 2938531
Eating the complimentary "breakfast" at a hotel yesterday, they had the Weather Channel playing on the tv. The twenty year old weather reader in an evening dress said
"Coming up, we will explain why so much of the US is so hot".
My attention wavered back to my raisin bran in the styrofoam bowl (not going to eat biscuits with gravy out of a no10 tin can. But plenty of fellow travelers were loading up on it🥴), so I did not catch if they explained that it is summertime or not. Probably not.

Not everyone is a master of making biscuits and gravy, but I find them hard to pass up most times myself Jeff.
As for the heat, I could always run and jump in the ocean to cool off. Here, they have ponds and rivers, but they also have snakes and gators, which rules jumping in out of the question.
