What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Happy Birthday Eleanor.
Looks like a great day.
Quote Barrett; {Every year I take a picture of Eleanor holding her knife and post it here, along with all the previous years’ pics. I do fear what may come of this tradition once we get to the teenage years, but for now, at least, she’s still a willing participant. 😁}

A wonderful series of Birthdays, and Birthday pics, Barrett!!

Thanks, Gary. No, it still resides with all of my knives, and I carry it on her birthday and other special occasions. She hasn’t shown too much interest in knives, other than learning to use them in the kitchen a bit. The pull on the #71 is probably a bit strong for a kid’s first knife anyways, but it’ll definitely go to her eventually.
I gave my 7-year-old grandson a Cub Scout knife 2 years ago, with his parents' permission. He was in the Cub Scouts, and it seemed appropriate. That's about the age I got mine. They didn't watch him too closely, and he managed to cut his finger the same day. I see it parked on the windowsill in their kitchen now, out of the kids' reach. I forget to ask if he's allowed to use it occasionally.
I'm sure Elenor will appreciate having it one day.

Two special knives today

I carried this today also.
I still have at least one of the irritating, rattly, stamped metal covers it came with. Maybe someday I'll sand down the bits of old belt and glue on the metal covers, but maybe not.
Somebody made a mess of the primary edge, but I don't want to lose the steel to even it out, and it still cuts just fine.
The secondary's point is too high, but it's well protected by the closed main, and I'd have to make an effort to stick myself with it when the main is open.

The fog is thick today in the City by the Bay! It’s the second of three days of the Dead playing in GG Park. Single tickets start at $245 I think I paid around $10 for my first Dead concert so I’m skipping these. Traffic around the Park is a nightmare!, So I’ll stay home and hangout with some Elk beauties! Have a great weekend folks! 😀
I thought the Dead were, um...dead 💀 So reading this sent me on a search for the truth. Sounds like a fun time
The SF Chronicle article I read said, "General admission tickets started at $635, with VIP packages reselling for upwards of $7,000." 😱

We’re spending the weekend up in Duluth, MN with some friends. I had these two with me this morning, might switch it up for the afternoon/evening (I did bring a few knives, because it’s always good to have options).
I spent a week in Duluth one day 😇

In all seriousness, one of the things I always have remembered about Duluth was the Leif Erikson. The last time I saw it was around 1980. Maybe '81 or '82. I was just reading that it has been relocated from the park to a warehouse, hopefully to be restored. Hard to believe it actually sailed across the Atlantic in 1926. Hardy souls for sure 😲

That one's been places and seen things.

First ride after the 2 injections in my hand today.

I sold my richlite 77 and bought a ebony 77.

In the end I mostly like wooden covers on something quit plain and tool like.

The 77s are perfect for the UK I am going to look for a 77 HJ.

Though thats subject to change of course. 😁

Its been a very nice morning. Cool and comfortable. Windows open, birds singing, sun shining with some clouds.
Pool today. No poker since we played Wednesday. Jim and I cleaned up. The other players will have to nurse their wounds and pocketbooks 🤑
Usual Cadet and an A. Wright lamb for Yorkshire Day 🥳

nice! what kinda cue is that?

Thanks. Its a Huebler

Huebler's were made locally in Lynn, Missouri. I can't recall, but when Old Man Huebler either retired or passed, his offspring weren't interested in the business and sold off the equipment, so Hueblers are no more :(

I bought this one for $133 in 1993 and it was one of, if not the, cheapest ones he made at the time. The wood in the butt is walnut. I don't recall what the shaft is made of.

Mike, I think for $635 it got you in for all three days and single day tickets were less. 🤷
