What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Stag/Horn Knife of the Week is an A. Wright & Son stag lambsfoot senator I won in a GAW here almost exactly 10 years ago:

Work Knife of the Week is a beat-up old Imperial scout with pen blade instead of an awl. My understanding is that this scout variation was made during WW2 for the Navy, but my knife, with no patent pending stamp on can opener, may be a post-war civilian version (even though it looks like it's "been through a war").

Planned on just two, but I added my Woodsman in honor of the Patriarch of the Porch, J jackknife .

Tough day. Got a call from my sister that her husband passed during the night of a massive heart attack. Only 65, and only days away from the birth of his sixth grandchild. He was a Knife Guy, but I never saw him carry the high end trad. knife I gave him, but I never carry the Gerber flipper he gave me, either.
On my way down to meet my brother to break the news to Mom.

Hug a loved one today.

Condolences to you and your family Jeff 🙏 🙏🙏

Do you still live in the Georgetown area? I have enjoyed some fine flyfishing in the beautiful San Gabriel River down there.

Yes, we are still in Georgetown. At this stage of my life, I don't think I have another move left in me. But I'm so happy here, I can't think of where I'd want to move to, unless maybe North Carolina near the Smoky Mountains. Maybe west of Asheville area.

I've done some good fishing along both the North San Gabriel and South San Gabriel rivers, as well as Lake Georgetown and Lake Belton north of us.

Two of those two of my daily carry more often than not. The alox SAK (most often a Wengr Si or Victorinox cadet) and the woodsman. They do most of what I need.

Yes, hug a loved one. When the knife nut and gun nut thing faded for me, it was the same time I realized that the people in my life were WAY more important than the material 'things' in my life. Things can be replaced, but loved ones need to be cherished while they are here. The bad thing about living to be an octogenarian is, you say goodbye to a lot of people that you love.

Sorry to hear about your family’s loss. Another reminder for me to keep people first.
