Lambsfoot of the Week is new-to-me; I won in it a month ago in one of Bob's Rufus1949 Rufus1949 legendary and generous estimation game GAWs in the Guardians thread, and only won because @Tyson A Wright submitted a winning estimate on my behalf! It's a smooth white bone shadow pattern built in Italy by Cosimo De Benedetto. I name all my lambsfoot knives, and decided on the official name CDB BF Agnello Ombra Bianca, where CDB are the initials of the cutler, BF are the initials of where I got the knife and from whom I received it, and Agnello Ombra Bianca is Italian for White Shadow Lamb (according to a Google translator). In everyday life, the knife's nickname is simply White Shadow. (Do you remember two old TV shows containing that name?) Grazie molto, Bob and Tyson!

This begs the question, if I carried it every day, would it make every day feel special, or would the knife eventually feel less special, due to its familiarity?
"Yes"?

Back when I "only had one" (of the three I carried daily in my pocket, clipped to a belt loop, and on my belt) each one made the day feel "special".
The familiarity (which was not a "bad" thing) just led to confidence they could be trusted for the task at hand, not make them feel less "special" or make me "think" I would be better off with something else.

Admittedly, I didn't get my first SAK, a Huntsman, until 2001 ... and it has pretty much retired my 4 blade Scout/Camp and Demo knives. The scissors, package hook, wood/bone saw, and toothpick are just so daRn handy.
I do prefer the Scout/Camp/Utility/Engineers/Demo knife's can opener, so I generally kept one in my backpack, fanny pack, or haversack/possibles bag when afield.

Thanks, Jeff. It is mint indeed. It was a tough decision whether to carry it or not but I concluded that I’m better off enjoying it myself than letting somebody else have all the fun. 😊
Yes. There a few favorite patterns with multiples in my cigar boxes. Some were never used, since I usually take the users. But why?
So someone else can be the first to put a real edge and patina on it?
I’m further up, in Newcomb. The weather has been spectacular. Just a bit past peak here, but that probably means you should hit peak foliage in Lake George.

Every time I carry this knife, it feels like a special treat. This begs the question, if I carried it every day, would it make every day feel special, or would the knife eventually feel less special, due to its familiarity?

I vote for familiarity in a lot of things, especially knives.
Which begs the question, why do I have a drawer full? 🤪

Nice! Thanx for the update!!! Im in between Bolton Landing and Hague about 6 miles in west of the lake and one road that loops in To my place from 9N and from me.North they don't plow come winter🙄ALWAYS INTERESTING...😉
