What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

"Traditional knives" generally refer to classic patterns and designs, many of which use a non-locking mechanism (slip joint) and often feature multiple blades or tools

Newest addition today. Nice to be able to pick up a GEC made knife without all the lolly scramble.

A Zuni Bear Fetish, Jeff!!

Show us a pic of your refurbished TEW, Jeff!!!

Happy to oblige, Charlie! It's overdue to be carried anyway. Back in the eighties, passing through Warsaw Mo. hauling propane, I stopped in at Bishop's Gunstocks, RIP, for a looksee and to drool over their incredible stacks of figured black walnut being turned into some of the world's best exhibition grade stocks. Came away with a little cutoff piece with nice figuring, not knowing what I'd end up doing with it.

Took some pictures of what autumn does to some plants around the vast expanse of my palatial compound ~

Wild Gooseberry.

Happy Monday!

The Tigers acquitted themselves fairly well during their 2 rounds in the playoffs, especially given how poorly they'd done at the end of the regular season. But I'm sad that both Tigers and Cubs are done now.
I hope it won't be 117 years or more between their last World Series win and their last, like their last W.S. "nope. not this year." record.

My maternal great grandfather (1891-1974) saw (or more likely heard on the radio) they won, years before he had younglings ... possibly long before he met his future wife.
Be terrible if my kid's great or great-great grandkids (if any ... the family line will end if no sons or no kids.) are the next generation to see the Cubs win the World Series.

Carried this GL Drew fixed blade while hunting with my brother the past 4 days. Saw several deer and I passed on a couple
of close shots on young bucks that would have been a slam dunk. Still have a bit of venison in the freezer from last seasons deer so I'm being picky in the early season.
Arrived back home last evening and carrying this GEC 86 with bloodwood covers today.

Nice pics , and a nice buck there in the background !

You are a man of wealth and taste.
Which Semour Duncan pickups are those, and how do you like them?

Vintage Stack, and I love them - good output, sounds like a Tele, but very low noise.

The guitar is a Player II with chambered swamp ash body. I just changed a little bit of hardware: Fender locking tuners; Graph Tech string trees (I have two, because I think the G needs one); Graph Tech nut; Graph Tech saddles; the Duncan pickups; Dunlop strap locks. For fairly low cost (this is still only about a quarter of the price of a Fender Custom Shop Tele) I have something that is pretty much perfect for me.

The buck in the background looks great, even out of focus

SAK of the Week is the first of several Pocket Pals I've acquired over the years. It's on my Top Ten list for SAKs because of its essential pocketknifiness: simple, no frills, just a spear and pen blade on opposite ends of an equal-end shadow pattern frame.
Hmmm; imgur doesn't seem to be operating normally for me (NYT website is also screwy this morning - they blame it on Amazon Web Services outages, so maybe imgur is also affected). Guess I'll edit in photos later, if imgur cooperates.
ETA: Imgur seems to be back to normal, so I can insert photos as promised.

Stockman of the Week is an amber jigged bone Buck 373 Trio (I think that's Chinese for Cadet) that I bought at Walmart in February 2014, soon after I decided I'd start carrying a jackknife again. It was sold in the same clamshell package as a matching Buck 379 Solo that I gave away soon afterword because I didn't care much for single-blade knives at the time.
Picture to follow, I hope. ETA: Here's the photo
