My brother from FL texted me a pic of "2026" written in the sand on the beach. I asked him if he did it, and he said that it was too cold for him to go on the beach today, because it was 43°.:p
We got a fresh coating of snow for New Years, so I texted this back to him.

Starting 2026 with this 112 & Pioneer, which are probably the same knives that I started 2025 with.

And will end 2026 with?

The police scanner was burning up last night - no DUI stops but there was one 5150 (mental case) call out for a guy standing in an intersection on Main Street directing traffic. Gonna carry my Garnet Jigged Bone Farmer Jack today. Sausage and waffles for breakfast.

Very nice knife Ed! I don't think I've ever seen this model before to be honest. What year was it put out?

I have owned this knife since 1972 way over 50 years since when I was a kid.

A German U boat commander gave it to my mother who gave it to me,I have no idea how long he had it or if he used it in WW2.

It’s massive but at the time was legal EDC in England, like most boys I carried a knife to school.

Particularly in Whitby Yorkshire were we ran around the hills and monastery (Dracula),fished of the pier and other outdoorsy stuff.

I chipped the blade as a kid as I had no idea how to handle a knife,we just used them it was a tool.

The brass still shines bright with a polish, lock up is rock solid, the wood and rivets are also solid.

A testament to build quality in the hands of a nieve kid like me. 😎

This morning after sharing the poem below I thought hang on is this true I’ve never tried it?

So I thought this one has a broad blade and I’ve not taken it out in a while let’s try.

I only had runny honey (this one’s delicious) but it did the job well.

I didn’t eat them though as I value my tongue,maybe OK on a butter knife.🤔 😄

WARNING DO NOT TRY THIS AT HOME 😂

I eat my peas with honey
I’ve done it all my life
It makes the peas taste funny
But it keeps them on the knife

Wow 1 well made knife John.
Mum always did baby carrots with honey.
