What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I carried this proven and trusted combo today, to bad that I had no chance to put 'em to good use other than open a bag of chips.

Nice looking combo - but I have to ask: What can the Opinel do that the SAK can't ?

Legitimate question mn, the opinel is my give away knife, in case somebody asks for one. I just couldn't get myself to team up an sak with a superknife (I rarely use that at all) ;)
Your right, either one of 'em would be enough, but on the other hand, one symptom of our disease is carrying more than one knife, even if they perform the same duty, just in case.:D

Today,

A 70 Case Peanut, tuned up by the late Jack Wood. I really like this knife. He took it apart, sweetened up the action and added half stops, a little filework on the backspring and abalone scales. I miss the man also and carrying this knife brings back a lot of memories. Jack was a knife nuts' knife nut. The action on this thing 20 years after Jack did his thing is notable to say the least.

As always I also have a lock back in jigged bone Kit Carson made for me a few years ago. He basically brought it to Blade saying he made it for me asking if I wanted it. Knives aside I have a lot of admiration for Kit and am very fortunate to be able to call him a friend. I have to carry that knife with me and use it. No choice in the matter at all ;).

Today i a medium Douk Douk in my back pocket and a tiny Kabar Pony Jack in my watch pocket. Used the Douk to prepare my lunch, the Kabar didn't see any use.

Today I have this Russell Barlow in my pocket. I got both of these knives yesterday. They were a gift from a Traditional forum regular. The note in the box read "just because". Goes to show the kind of folks hereabouts.

Today it was my Vic Super Tinker. The cool thing about this thread is that we can all post everyday, and have a different post. Today it's my SAK, yesterday it was my Schrade, the day before my Case CV Stockman, etc. Very cool thread, JK.

I got this Peanut I am using as someone around here *ahem* had a experiment thread.

Ya'll go on and post about different knives and post pics ...
...I'll be over this-a-way with my Peanut reading this thread...

Today it's a small CM McClung congress. I brought it to work to give it a mineral oil bath.

Knife knuts and their silly experiments. LOL. ;)

Today I'm carrying my Case brown Delrin peanut from 1978. Since the experiment has been mentioned I will confess that I have been intrigued by the idea since some of you all first started. I just never had the what ever it is I have been lacking to do it.
It's been on my mind since ElCuchillo started it and today I have been giving it some serious thought. It might be good for me.
Hope this isn't considered a hijack.

The last day and a half I've been been carrying my old number 7 Opinel with a reshaped linseed oil finished handle, and my old Wenger SI.

The Opinel keeps sneaking in my pocket now and then.

Case CV peanut, yellow handles.Bought it in january when ya'll started the experiment.I;ve carried it pretty much every day since i got it,except for a few odd days i went off the bandwagon an carried a brown bone Buck creek whittler.

Oh Goody!
More Peanut users and one is carrying a yeller one with cv like me!

I made 'taters' with mine today, and made mashed 'taters...boy did I *yikes*

Salibury Steak with gravy, rolls with real butter baked onions and blueberry pie...

All with the Peanut I carried today, and doing the 'periment with.
Top that!

This is a very amusing post!

Yellow CV Peanut, and his big brother, the Yellow CV slimline trapper.

Small Texas jack went today, too, but just got to ride along, didn't do anything.

Peanut did almost everything.

Cool. Glad you didn't take my question as a criticism. It's just that I recently got my first alox SAK (a Soldier) and it occurred to me that - blade vs. blade - it's pretty much like my Sodbuster Jr., but with the additional ability to open a bottle of beer! Anyway ...... :)

Queen D2 Mini Trapper in Cocobolo.
Rebeveled it from the factory grind, now it is sharp.

Learning to use the long spey.
Mainly for veg prep.

Trying to figure out which I like better, a Dogleg Jack or a Mini Trapper.
A long spey or a pen blade.
