What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

You guys are a bad influence. I now have a large trapper in my pocket.

I hope my sharpening skills are up to it. This is by far the sharpest factory edge I've ever had.

I'm sorry, judging from that beauty you're now carrying I fail to see how anyone around here could conceivably be considered a bad influence. ;)

And not to worry, if you can't get her sharp we have plenty around here that can. (But you should definitely work on that skill. It's the very satisfying "flip side" of the coin.)

I hadn't paid much attention to them until recently. Once I saw this one and noticed the CV markings I simply couldn't help myself.
Something tells me this is the start of something expensive.

Wow now that is a peanut to drool over!! Making me jealous! When I started my conversion to slipjoints the only thing I miss is a premium steel like 154CM, there is always a Shatt and Morgan File and Wire tested in my future that could get me something close to that.

Absolutely  The first time you are able to get a blade really sharp, it is an awesome feeling... You will look for things to cut just so you have to sharpen it again :D

You guys are going to get sick of seeing this one.

If anyone gets tired of seeing MM yellow bone, perhaps they are hanging out in the wrong sub forum :D
That is one of the few materials that could almost replace my beloved Case red bone.... Almost

Thanks. I just used it to cut up an apple.:eek:My nice new shiny knife has brown stains all over the blade.

So true, Mike. I spent some time refining (read sharpening and scratching) the blades of my MM 5301 earlier today. The clip blade almost cut me just looking at it!

I'de like to turn the blades blue like on my Queen city Canoe. I think after they patina for a while, silver polish takes the stains out and you get the blue affect.
