What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Great pattern from Schrade
Mine is not a Ducks Unlimited with a cool blade etch. Just a regular 96OT. The handle tools, scribe and tweezers are real-deal tools, not SAK style grooming accesories.
I have had mine in my pocket with my others since 11:00 this morning. Duncan, our 9 mo. Old German Shepherd Dog, had a half inflated tick on the back of his neck. Right between his flat collar and the flea and tick collar.
A touch of a smoldering matchstick on it's butt, and a little twisting pull with the Schrade tweezers, and out it came.

Regrefully, I failed to get a photo of the filthy bloodsucker.

I have a very distinct disdain for ticks. Nice job on removing it from Duncan. Dogs deserve nothing but the very best.

You are absolutely correct; the scribe and tweezer are the real McCoy; excellent for removing splinters.

The pre-2004 US made 96OT's are not easy to find these days, the ones on the bay demand proud prices. Yours looks real nice. The old Schrade brown Delrin is attractive.

It warmed up a bit yesterday, so the garter snakes came out again. Around here, they always seem to be the first ones out in the Spring, and the last to hole up in the Fall.
(Sorry, not a real good pic, because it refused to sit still & pose. I guess I'll never get a job as a Nat Geo photographer.)

I personally love Garter Snakes. Great friends in the garden, so I keep rock piles around for them.
Of course, we have no native poisonous serpents around here, so it's easy to be happy to see them

I like strong springs, so that's a plus for me. The single blade knife feels nicer than the other one and it's a bit better finished.

I personally love Garter Snakes. Great friends in the garden, so I keep rock piles around for them.
Of course, we have no native poisonous serpents around here, so it's easy to be happy to see them

We also have some black snakes that live in the wood pile. They keep the mouse population down, and when the black snakes are around, we don't see any copperheads, or rattlers. This one's a good 6' long.

There are some nasty, brown, water snakes in the stream that runs through the property, that have to be killed off every Spring, or we won't have any frogs or small fish. It's illegal to kill them in PA......... but if I were to kill them, I'd use my S&W 686, or J-Frame, with .38 Special birdshot. My old lab, Gunny used to just love killing those things, but the lab we have now shows no interest at all.
