Someday this Queen DB Barlow will be as sharp as the Ken Coats.

That Ken Coats knife is a beauty!:thumbup:
It is very similar to a traditional Hungarian pattern called ‘maskara bicska’ or simply ‘maskara’.
It was originally a late 19th Century regional pattern in Hungary which became popular and wide-spread eventually.
Many farmers and herdsmen used it. It is still a quite popular traditional pattern in Hungary.

I am new to knives, especially traditional knives. So if this is not a traditional i am sorry.

Close enough to traditional for me.

Dead ringer for one I had in the early to mid 60's, right down to the handle color. Little catch at the bottom is spring loaded, IIRC. Hadn't thought of that one for a good many years. I don't think they were made for flipping. Just a good way to have a very secure opened blade. The ultimate locking mechanism. They are just split handled knives. Not high end knives, and if I remember correctly, the steel wasn't all that hard. (I see that one has been sharpened a good many times.) But still a good knife to carry in the pocket.

Thanks for posting that.
