What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Can you tell me the name of this model bud? I am trying to decide which GEC's to put on my list.

You bet - it's a #68 "White Owl." I own very few pen knives (preference for jacks) but I really like this one.

Thank you! I really like that one too! I even have a leather lanyard like that...a buddy made it for my pocket watch but I think it looks grand on you knife!

It looks like a very old butterfly knife. It is traditional somewhere. Can you post more information about it?

It says "Knivfabriken Gnosjö" and some ingraving like "KFG" maybe? My grandfather won this knife in a small lokal skicompetiton around 1950, so it has a lot of sentemental value.

Close enough to traditional for me.

Dead ringer for one I had in the early to mid 60's, right down to the handle color. Little catch at the bottom is spring loaded, IIRC. Hadn't thought of that one for a good many years. I don't think they were made for flipping. Just a good way to have a very secure opened blade. The ultimate locking mechanism. They are just split handled knives. Not high end knives, and if I remember correctly, the steel wasn't all that hard. (I see that one has been sharpened a good many times.) But still a good knife to carry in the pocket.

Thanks for posting that.

Thanks!

I am feeling red today—
Better that than blue, they say.

Red is such a cheery shade,
Sweetest color ever made,

:)
