What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Thanks for the info Andi.
I thought it would be the case with such thin blade stock.

Hope all is well.

Have a good weekend.

^^^^ What a perfect specimen of the improved trapper, des!!
It's an elegant design and the black and silver dressings accentuate that. It's also tougher than I thought it would be. Whittled on some solid ash wood and it showed me that it's all business when it's time to do some work.

Niiiice stockman Jack.
Getting your teeth pulled today?

Andi - How do you find the hollow ground blades on that Buck?

Fish on a Friday....

Cheers folks ;)

Love the friction folder with ball! Is that the ¿ Rotosphere ?
A while back I finally got to try mushy peas, had 'em on water crackers with malt vinegar and thought they were quite tasty! The wife wouldn't even venture a try though, she thought they were "unnatural!"

Puukkoman - any more info on that Schrade? It really grabbed my attention! Thanks Jim
Hey Jim,

It's a Schrade Walden no. 163 rope knife. Used to be a sharp-cornered sheepsfoot blade, but has been sharpened into a curve by previous owners. These are actually pretty common on the "big auction site," and usually not very expensive. Often, there is a company name or logo embossed on the handles, sometimes a bail or a lanyard hole, and usually the handles are more square and less polished (this one is kinda unique with its lack of a lanyard hole and its smooth finish on the wood... although there are holes in the brass scales to accomodate a hole drilled in the wood covers).
Thanks for your comments! :)

The man in red and white has long since gone
Been putting up reindeer
Taking down lights
This morning I wake up to this crazy scene
Winter singing her songs of joy
Spreading her blanket for the little baby
I guess she wanted him to skate away

It is the Rotosphere Duane, yes. Makes a great table knife.

Mushy peas on crackers? Sounds claggy!

Had this one for a while sharpened it up and have been carrying it for about a month now. It is quicklymaking me wish it hadn't laid in the knife roll for so long.

The contrasting texture of the paper thin crisp wafers with the bright green mushy peas was quite pleasing actually, eating wise;)

Yesterday this replacement came, a stocking stuffer from Christmas, and is getting its first carry...

Scruff! Where's the saveloy!?

Only one chippy down my way sells them and only on Fridays! We'll always eat battered fish, but what about the dear red turkey goodness?

I hope you'll consider gracing your plate with one next time! ;)

+1 on the ff BTW, looks a beauty! Can we see a glamour shot and some specs?
