What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Pallaresas do not get a whole lot of play on this forum, and that's a shame. For those who like minimalist, understated designs, a Pallares Solsona is a good choice. This one has a carbon blade. Stainless is also available. The scales on this are deer stag, with wood and micarta also available. They offer several sizes as well.

Fit and finish may not be up to GEC standards, but certainly up to Case standards, in my opinion. Half stop on opening. Very solid feel in the hand. No blade wobble in any direction. When closed, the blade does not line up in the center (my only gripe).

I like the "peasant" knife concept of the Pallaresa. And with 100 years or so of production behind them, the company has quite a history. From what I can gather, their kitchen lines are even more popular in Spain.

These are readily available on ebay for under $50 in wood or micarta. I have a micarta version on the way from Spain. The seller is quite friendly, and I really couldn't be much happier with this knife - if only the blade were centered...

Joe Allen EO, a good way to start the week and it makes me feel warm inside considering we are venturing on our 16th straight day of below zero morning temps. :thumbdn:

My old Swedish EKA, mother of pearl handle, two blade. Nice and neat to have in your pocket.

You can buy examples like this in auctions in Sweden for 10-15 $.

I went with two small ones for balance today while at home, one in each pocket. Queen stag baby doc and Steel Warrior ram's horn peanut.
