What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Gorgeous blade, gorgeous covers:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup:

Very nice knife Smithhammer---belt or pocket sheath?

Thanks, Paul. At 9" overall, it's a pretty good-sized knife, so I carry it in a belt sheath. Although a "mini" version of this (6" w/ 2.7" blade?) would be a sweet pocket carry!

Very nice Charlow. I really like the jigging and the deep color on that one!

It's a beautiful knife!!! I missed the dimensions that were posted above my post. It's tricky how a picture can either make a knife appear both large or small:o

And your spot on in regards to a smaller version making a great pocket carry:thumbup:

Lon's knives are remarkable....someday soon I must own one;)

Jack, Eric, Corso, Smithhammer - Thank you so very much for your comments on my ole Schrade. I was hoping a few might like it they way I do. :)

Jack - I really liked your mini gunstock and the ivory knives.:)

Thanks my friend, the 22 was a gift from Stephen (Old & In The Way) :)

Got out for a hike with the dogs this morning, and carried my Humphrey Kephart:

Another jaw dropping here!

Very hard to keep this one out of my pocket.
When I got it the tip was a hair shy of creeping above the handle, so I filed down the tang a bit. Now it sits a lot lower.
Forced a little patina on it and got the edge shaving sharp.
Now it's perfect :D
Can't thank you enough Paul

I am assuming this SBJ is a chestnut, since the blades are CV. The scales on it are quite beautiful, much darker and richer than the usual chestnut. Did you find it that way or help it along a bit? Nice BG and photo as well. :)

Stencil Jr. - that is a great looking Charlow! ;)

Jack Black - the new photo of the HJ & RJ looks mighty nice! :)

Got my old Cattaraugus Cocobola handled Jack in my watch pocket today:

It is 3 & 1/4 inches closed.
:)

SH, that Humphrey always gets me. I had one of his at one time, a smaller Whitetail, and I'm thinking I may have to pick up another sometime.

I carried my Fremont yesterday.

Lots of great knives posted the past couple of days. I'm always excited to see what you guys post each day. Been landscaping the yard in the blistering 95 degree heat so I've been reluctant to carry anything special and too tired by the end of the day to take pics of the knife I did carry. Finally done and heading out so I have an opportunity to take this little beauty with me. Thanks again, Evan. Loving it! Cannot wait to put her to good use!

Again today.

Looks like you're ready for anything that needs a cuttin' Woodrow - you sure brightened up "ole yeller" in a hurry!!!:D

Just a beautiful knife, Jennifer!!

On a rainy day

+1 Jennifer and very nice Camillus Gevo! Don't forget to wipe her down. :D

Thank you sir, that Cattaraugus is gorgeous, I would have taken the covers for ebony

Thank you Jack. It is a color changer - inside or shade - it appears a rich dark brown to black - cloudy day is very dark reddish brown - and bright light it is medium dark reddish brown and shows quite a bit of figuring. When I first got it, I just hit the wood a few swipes with 50/50 denatured alcohol/lacquer thinner mixture and 0000 steel wool, followed by a quick dry with a clean cloth, to get any germs or filth off. It you don't over-do-it, it leaves the good patina intact. Then a coat of Bri-wax and a quick rub-down on the shield and bolsters with some really fine grit. I really like the look and feel of it and that old steel sharpens up quickly. ;)
