What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice PMEW, I suspect you're going to be carrying that one a lot

Apart from anything else, that Lambsfoot Jack is a darn useful blade combo :)

I plan to carry something tomorrow that just might give our good friend Primble a small twinge of jealousy which only seems fair after all the beautiful Charlow photos he's been posting lately. ;)

I know what it is and I say "Bring it on friend" !!!

Oh NO - I forgot about that Che Chen Rosewood !!!:eek::D

Foggy Mountain Breakdown...some fine picking there

Think I will grab my Banjo and head down to the front porch to my cabin in the woods - do a little pickin' - and a little bit of stomping.:thumbup::D

The little ones tagging along while I walked my big girl to school!

Wonderful Jennifer - maybe more trust toward Mom now - or do you have to put one up when you get home??:D

WOW Paul - love that one - just beautiful !!!:thumbup:;)

Ebony and Ebonite today! :D

Fine carries Jack and I need to know more about that JRodgers - era??:) WOW - look at those bolsters!

Todd - Thanks! Your Oeser is fantastic and I never get tired of looking at it. Maybe one day I'll luck into finding one for sale at a price that I can afford. ;) For what it's worth, my user name (Old & In the Way) is both a reference to how I was feeling the day I signed up and also a collaboration band that I really like. Here's a link to Old & In the Way playing Midnight Moonlight back in 1973 if you're interested:

Such a great line up they had. Jerry picking that banjo, Davd on the mando and Vassar on the fiddle just sounds right to me. John and Peter aren't to be forgotten either. Love that group and that song.

And knife content.

Thank you sir. I'm really not sure about the big J Rodgers Sheepsfoot. They started using Ebonite (celluloid) in the 19th century, and even if you can identify the knife from a catalogue, they produced some of the patterns for decades. The blade is forged and there's a small amount of shrinkage to the covers. I would have thought no later than the early 50's, and possibly pre-war. Here's a pic of it open:

Thank you CH. That one isn't used much. I usually use this one.

Another big  from me. Even that one looks to be well above average, from what I can see of it. Any time you want to post pictures of an Old Timer I'm game.

Office carry today, thinking no one could object to a Charlow, right? :)

Very nice. I really like the jigging and coloring on that bone.

Twins! I'm toting mine just like that today, on a gloomy overcast day in northeast Ohio.

Gloomy and rain here this morning Dan. I always appreciate the Charlows and Charlow pictures.

My totes today are not TC Barlows.

The little IXL and another fine old Barlow:

Hey, wait a minute. I want to see the blades on that Case XX. And you're killing me with the IXL. Great pics again.

And to answer your earlier question, no, Riley has not given me "Use of Knife Privileges" yet with her tiny toothpick. I can carry and return to the knife box, but not use. Maybe one day. A girl can dream! :)
