What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

GEC Northfield #65 Ben Hogan in Black Gold Acrylic with Spear Point

Imperial (not sure what this frame is called) with jigged black synthetic covers.

I have no memory of bidding on this thing, but I'm glad I did because it was under $10 shipped and has perfect 5ish pulls and great snap with no wiggle. It even had the factory edges. Extremely happy with this little guy.

Edit: just found an Imperial dating chart. 1946-1956?!?! This thing is in unbelievable shape for being 58-68 years old!

My first sodbuster!

So far so good... lighter than I expected. If I like it I'll move up to a Case in chestnut jigged bone I believe.

Got out early this morning to hunt where there was some sign of a buck. In front of a stand, where I was going to spend the early hours, and a deer was bedded down. Couldn't tell if it was a buck or not (still dark), so I had to shoo it away and tell it to come back later. It never did. However, there was a severe squirrel infestation. If I had a shotgun, I could have easily bagged my limit. Since a deer rifle makes a poor squirrel gun, I had to be content watching them chase each other around paying me no attention.

My companion today:

Queen Large Stockman today c. 1945. Re-shaped the broken main. Not going to sharpen out the chip, as its too deep and I would lose a lot of steel. It will sharpen out over time. Good solid knife w/ great snaps

Nice combination Paul

I went over to see ADEE and go round his local market today.

Went over with these, plus a Warris letter-opner knife for ADEE :)

Came back with these, and an empty wallet! :D  Still got to clean them up, only just got back, couple of other knives I missed in my bag too.

My kitchen table is worse than ever!

Thanks for the nice comment, Jack.
That's quite the haul you've got there!

Thanks Gary, I've just been totting up how much I spent today, and I think I might be living on peanut butter sandwiches until the end of the week! :D ;)

Some nice Imperial Jacks there Jack

Thank you my friend, the Burma Pattern clasp knife? I've been after a decent one for a while

The fixed-blade on the bottom left of the centre pic, I think is some sort of medical knife, possibly from the mortuary!
