Case 6231 1/2 today.

Thanks for the kind replies, Jack & Ron :)
Much appreciated! Baby Max is doing the only right thing today as he is almost sleeping for three hours. :D

Nice Case Akula  Who made the Laurel Canyons knife, looks like something by Novelty Knife Co?

Thanks for the compliment Primble. Some of the pictures you and others post are crazy nice. That's an old table I bought at an antique store. It was built around the 1890's, it was refinished in the late 1930's and not touched up since then. Its simple pine but it has a lot of character and marks that I wish would tell a story of how they got there.

Thank you sir - it does have a lot of character !

There are a lot of nice backgrounds and other wonderful relics to be found in some of the antique stores. I frequent them often. :)

Not many good old knives to be found at them around here. :o

I dug out a special Barlow and put it in my pocket today, thanks to my friend Paul Hilborn:

Stephen that Norfolk is a beaut!!

I have never owned a Northwoods and have been considering the Norfolk or Norfolk whittler. Do you find the Norfolk stable with the longer main than the whittler? How's the pull on that beauty?

Thanks

Brett I own both, and candidly they're both a bit delicate in their own way; the Norfolk is long and lean, the Whittler main wharnecliffe is very thin.

They're both superb and have light smooth pulls without half stops.

If I were forced to chose one, the Whittler wins.

Hope this helps.

Joe

Thank you for the help. I've been leaning towards the whittler. I may wait and see if they do another run on them.

Old pic, it's pouring rain and the ground is muck, Just the Viper today.

After Scotland's dismal display (lost the match in the 80th minute!) yesterday I went green in support of my wife's national team who were triumphant against the English this afternoon.

What a match! Absolutely breathtaking!

I decided to carry a small FB. I recently picked up one by Rough Rider, and yesterday I received a nice leather sheath for it from R.c.s. so I thought I'd put it on my belt. Thanks again mate

Jack, I've got to say that upon returning to view this knife a few times, I am impressed by the looks of it. What's the blade length? Any first impressions?

Thanks Duane, I see both you and Sarah were toting the little guys too. I think Jack's old friends thread has a lot to answer for ;)

I bought it on a whim Duane, at the equivalent of $17, I just couldn't believe how inexpensive it was. 3 1/2" blade (tip to the front of the ricasso), 11 1/8" overall. I am really quite struck with it, fit and finish are very good, and it came pretty sharp. It's fairly light, but feels good in hand. The Cordura sheath it came in was serviceable, but the leather sheath I was gifted is a lot better. I think you'd like it Duane, and at such a low price point, I'd say it's definitely worth taking a gamble on my friend
