What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

An important holiday here in (catholic) Germany, Karfreitag - Easter Friday so no meat may be eaten today... just fish

Last years Blade Forums genius in the backpocket

3,000 pages of case back patting, so much for a "non-commercial" board.

Sit back, relax, post your case slip joints.

No need for dissing around Sir. Oh - and the parol: "Sit back, relax and post your knife..." can be easily done ;)

Moderator knarfeng told you about the guidelines and rules here. Please follow them.

You're a grown man and you consider that 'dissing'? It's an honest observation, it upsets you because it opposes your non-stop back patting session. As for the guidelines, none of you understand want to understand, or follow them yourselves.

I carry a little buck 55 around. It's a decent knife but it has a bit of blade play. I mainly carry it because the blade is legal to carry in my area. I bought it because it is my preference in traditional designs, I prefer it over the case slip joint personally. Classy thread stay classy gentlemen, have a great day! You're wonderful really!

Thanks Brad! Indeed a wonderful knife. It carries so great in hand. You will love it. I got mine from my wife several years ago for our anniversary. So it is a rather special knife for me.

Coffin Jack for me today

Nice looking watch & swayback are the blades cv. Should have carried a fish knife today. Lol

I'm carrying the Frank Buster eureka jack today. Does anyone have a name for this shield? I don't think I've seen it before this knife.

Today, I'm going lightweight, with this lovely little "EDC" made by the talented Ken Erickson.

This one came into my possession when Ken hosted a Give-Away some time ago. I'm still brought to my knees, with humility and gratitude, whenever I pick it out of the cigar box to carry.
It's a little different than his usual EDC, with a very nice sorta-scalloping treatment done to the handle. This not only gives a very pleasant tactile sensation, but also allows the layers of the composite handle material to be more visible. Really, really enjoy this one.

Jeff - good looking Eureka Jack. I can't help with the shield name as I don't think I've seen it used before either. Very unique.

Thanks, Stephen. The closest shield to this one is the straight version of the same that GEC uses: I call it a "hotdog bar" shield.

Maybe the eureka's is a "broken hotdog" . . . :D

Very nice!
I don't know that I've seen that shield before, either. Looks quite good on that frame, though.
Also, the cut swedge next to the nail nick is something else that seems a little less than common, eh?
Thanks for posting, an excellent example of this brand, which I wish we would see more of.

Thanks, p. The short swedge and nail nick is a rare combo, usually see a cut swedge with a long pull. Plus, this nick is relatively large and deep, allowing a real good purchase on the blade. I'm not a fan of narrow nicks, as I have fat fingers and thick fingernails.

Andi - nice setup today. I hope you have an enjoyable Karfreitag.

Mark - fine looking coffin jack. I need to carry mine more often.

Old Hunter - beautiful Saddlehorn.

puukkoman - terrific looking knife and an equally terrific story about how you came to acquire it. I hope to own one of Ken's knives some day.

I'm carrying this ebony #38 Whittler which was delivered yesterday. I'm really liking it so far.

Jeff, I really like that Eureka. Very cool and a lot of unique features to it.

Today, I'm going to carry the Davison Barlow I just got in. 3-3/4", dyed box elder burl, coined liners and file worked spring. Much more than I thought it was going to be from the pictures. It's absolutely wonderful.
