Thanks Tom, Doc is getting older but still makes a heck of a knife. My wife and I see him each year(for many years now) at the MKA show in Missoula. My wife picked up a beautiful sting ray skin wallet from him last year along with this knife. Here is another by Doc in Sambar stag,

I just got a PM from Rick Meneffee asking if I was a knife maker  I guess I will be after I make a few of these Barlow's that I designed :D

Kris - love that Doc Hagen. DIB on a slipjoint generally always trips my trigger, and that's an exemplary piece. And that swedge is over the top!

Mark, I said it before but like the others here it's worth repeating...that's fantastic bone on that forum knife brother:thumbup::thumbup::thumbup::cool:

Help me, Doctor! What's the story behind that knife? Is the shield a map of Ohio?? Curious, but very cool!:confused::thumbup:

Hey 5K, the shield is totally Ohio because that's my sweet GEC 48 Buckeye Trapper SFO. I'll try get some more pics up tomorrow. Hands down my best looking knife.

A gentleman by the name of Chris Tenney came up with these, if you need his contact info let me know.

Lots of great pics and great-looking knives folks

Carrying this old friend today :)

I have been carrying and using this humble Opinel nr 9 for a while now. As you see I have done modifications, like doing some reshaping to the handle, adding an easy open notch and burning the handle surface. After sanding the soot off I burned again, sanded again and dropped the knife in a can of teak oil, left it there for 3 days and nights. After the oil had cured I bathed the pivot area in a mixture of vaselin and bicycle chain oil. The pivot was still a bit loose so I snugged it up with a ball peen hammer. I like it quite tight, so it is a 2 hand opener and a dedicated friction folder.

I must say I like this knife a lot. It cuts with ease and is feather light and easy to carry.
