Thanks Sarah, it is a model 6231 1/2, delrin covers, and it's just a tick under 3-3/4" closed. The pen was almost a nailbreaker when it came to me, but has since been loosened up to a moderately strong pull.
I know what you mean about those 38's, I have been drawn to them and have resisted the temptation so far, but that frame has a striking similarity to my beloved Powderhorn.
clutch, That ebony whittler is such a great looking knife! The ebony version sure is tempting...
I don't want to twist your arm, but I do recommend it. Imagine a #57 Geppetto Whittler all grown up and elegant.
I prefer shorter blades, as on the #57 for better control when whittling, but for a daily use knife, I think this #38 will be perfect. It has the blade variety of a stockman, but in such an easy to carry, and elegant package.
