What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

These two are still with me, spending the day with my wife and daughter.

T.K. Steingass modified subhilt Chute and a dogleg by Rick Menefee. Tim's subhilt rides well on my hip, despite being on the heavy side. Spend some time on the main edge and clip edge to get them razor sharp.

Have a great Saturday folks

Stephen I echo your sentiments exactly, except for me it has been a long 3 weeks. I have really missed all my friends on the porch:) that is quite an ensemble of 38's :thumbup:

P -Beautifully stated:) I have experienced these same feelings before right here on the porch.:)

Today At least for now it is the 48 for me ;):)

Nice choice Ron. I like the looks of the single blade 48 better than the two blades. Nice coloring too.

Ron - Welcome back. :) The single blade 48 is a wonderful knife. A nice combination of usable blade with a nice smooth/pinch-able pull, while still being comfortable to carry.

Possessions cannot prevent sorrow, nor produce lasting joy in and of themselves.

But sometimes, the right thing(s) at the right time can point towards (and tether us to) a deeper holding beyond our own means and days, lifting our heads and strengthening our hearts, making us laugh (and maybe cry) and marvel at pocketable friendship made real once again.

At least, that's what I've come to know, often through the astounding generosity of others here. I don't even have to be the direct recipient; you all make me better.

- who loves her stuff

Beautifully said. :)

Kris - gorgeous pairing today.

Smithhamer - another wonderful pairing.

SSS - nice patina on your Presidential.

I carry it in (I think) a KSF Adirondak pocket sheath, which has a slot for the fixed blade and a second slot for folder, etc. in my right front pocket. It is very comfortable, just feels like a wallet really. Drawing the knife is easy, the sheath stays in my pocket, but I do need to remove the sheath to re-set, if that makes sense.

Thanks for the feedback. I have my first edc fixed blade coming Monday. Looking forward to seeing how I like carrying it. It's one of the smaller Lon Humphrey's.

What a fantastic collection Stephen:thumbup:

I really like this pattern...

Stephen - Nice collection of 38's! :thumbup::cool:

Paul - Hey Brother, thanks to you I just picked up the exact same knife that you have! I was on the fence about this pattern until your endorsement caused me to pull the trigger! :D

I will be in touch with you soon Paul.

Oh, now I have to pic up the silver Martec flashlight too! :grumpy::eek::D

This one chaps

Very interesting to see that knife HH  I picked up this one, which had nothing on the tang-stamps, and had either seen a lot of use, or had a run-in with a grinder, a couple of months back.

I've been busy the past couple of days, but had these two with me today when I visited an old water-powered cotton mill. Seemed appropriate ;)

Hope everyone is having a good weekend

Went for a long hike today across several huge fields and to the edge of a forest. Weather bright but cold 8c, some migrant bird singing but oddly quiet.. Got to the forest started to go inside but then decided to go along the edge of it following a the field to a cutting. Muddy field and in the furrow noticed very large paw-marks, no other tracks and no human footmarks either. They did not look like dog prints, too big...wait a minute Wolf?? Didn't have my camera or phone with me so a 45 min walk back for it with much excitement. I've once been very lucky to be within 3 metres of a Wolf in the wild by accident, he felt no fear and nor did I, just admiration (I'm a lot more wary of most large dogs frankly and with good reason...). Time I got back it had been raining strongly and the paw marks were much degraded unfortunately, so who knows? Exciting though!

Anyway, the only knife I had with me as this tiny PSK in my pocket:eek::D

Quick pic, what I carried on a hike today. I have to get something lighter with a saw, Leatherman is too stinkin' heavy! I like to take a saw with me when I go out in the woods because I cut down a sapling tree a few years ago that had A vine wrapped around it, it choked the tree and made a cool curve around the trunk. I made it into A walking stick for my oldest son. Now my younger son wants one so I keep an eye out and need to have a way to cut it down should I find one. :)
