What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

KBA - Great to see you around Brett, hope all's well

Wow, lots of stunning pics of great knives folks, this thread goes from strength to strength :)

You guys know what Saturdays were meant for!

Thanks CC...

Hitting some estate sales today.

...You too :) Hope you got lucky at the estate sales. I would have liked to have gone out 'shopping' today, but after taking two days off in the week, I need to push on with some work today.

Off on a bike ride with my lovely wife, the Wenger SI in the handlebar bag.

Out early on the Big Hole river, cold and rainy, but still a good time. Laguiole En Aubrac helping out,

Hope you fellers had a great time

Carrying my Ken Coats Sheepsfoot Jack today.

That really is a fine knife :)

Jack, looks like you were ready for any eventuality! :p:thumbup: What's the Latin phrase: semper paratus? :D

Yes indeed my friend, everything but the steep Yorkshire hills I was climbing, they seem to get a bit bigger every year ;)

I think I'm going to be in the house most of today, but I have my Davison in my pocket :)

Have a great Sunday everyone

Jack

It's been a while since I dropped by the porch. It's good to see some known, and a few new, folks around here. Summer is approaching, bringing the last school day, so I have more time on my hands to enjoy traditionals and stare at the fine cutlery you all post. Ah, being a teacher has it's perks.

I've been trying to catch up in the threads and I am proud to see you all are still the best enablers and most generous people I have come across.

Working in the weeds after a good needed rain today

Hope you all have a great weekend.

Brett, it's great to see you back in the neighborhood. I know how you feel about catching up! I hope summer allows me a bit more time to hang around.

Pretty new here and getting real comfortable having a slipjoint in my pocket. Gonna work on the home theater wiring some today...

Rinos - That is a wonderful view! A place I certainly would enjoy this rainy morning. What is the closed length and who is the maker of that beauty?

Thank you Ryan, Bob, Jeff, Dave, Jack, and Curtis for the welcome. You guys have been posting some great knives/pics since my brief hiatus. I have a lot to catch up on. I'm already enjoying the threads.

Adalynn is doing great! Growing way to fast! Aubrey will be here in a month or so and the move went well. Still haven't settled completely but back to knives.

This 85 for the morning and then maybe something different for the afternoon.

Hope you all have a great Sunday. It does me good to see all this great cutlery being posted.

Drew : The Taylor's Eye Witness in Ox Horn with 2 Blades and worked back is quite a bit heavier than a 77 Barlow. The bolsters are not rounded off and the knife is a little clunkier to carry than the 77 Barlow. The F & F of the Eye Witness is IMO every bit as good as the 77 Barlow . The blade pull is a little stiffer but not bad. I have another one in Rams Horn , Single Blade , and non- worked back is just as nice except for the color variation when you rotate the knife. I would say that over all , the handles on the Ox Horn are nicer than the Rams Horn. I am carrying the Rams Horn today and just finished doing a very small and light job with it. I normally do not carry either one during the week. The are a little over priced as compared to a 77 Barlow , but they are very nice. One day I will get one in Stag. You can get a single blade , non worked back for the price of a TC Barlow.

Sounds like you had a good day on the river, Kris. I like that Menefee. The handle looks like it would be very comfortable in use.

Thanks Gary, it is a very comfortable handle, a real joy to carry and use.

Cool table too Kris!

Thanks Mark.

Another rainy day, spending it with my family, these two are with me,

Puukko by K.E. Lindblad with a damascus blade forged by Göran Enocksson along with a Boker lockback in Rob Thomas stainless damascus and mokume gane with beautiful book matched Imbuia wood handles.

This, but now minus its shackle, which I removed as it proved to be awkward when I carry the knife in my jeans watch pocket. No, the scale on this side isn't right — it got bleached somehow. The other side is the normal rich brown for an Ulster delrin scale.

But for $10, it was nice fixer-upper, and the blades are all in good shape.

:D:D I can relate to those growing hills, Jack!

Sounds like a grail knife to me RBB! Very nice!:thumbup:

I am attending an all day suit-and-tie business affair today. A Wall Street seemed appropriate, along with a caplifter pry bar gizmo on my keychain. Bonus if you can spot the 3 tiny stowaways slightly north west of the lockback ;).
