What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

My Cocobolo Lon Humphrey Custom knives arrived this morning. I was excited with the anticipation of their arrival. At the same time, a little worried about their size - that maybe they would be too small and not what I had envisioned. I had read all the specs, sat on the fence for a good while, watched the videos, but, still a bit worried that I might be disappointed. After all, I have bought less than ten fixed blades in my entire life and never carried them much. I was hoping the smaller knives might change that.

Late morning - back from my walk and see a large package by the door. I opened it up quickly and was stunned by the beauty and craftsmanship of their rustic looks. The next thing I noticed was, although small, not too small and substantial for their size. The included sheaths were very nice and the knives in the sheaths slides comfortably, completely hidden in my summer jean shorts front pocket. I am going to alternate carrying them every day for a while. I think that I finally found a fixed blade that will prove useful to me, and beautiful as well !!! Although I think their looks are fantastic, I bought them to carry and use and still plan to do just that.

This Böker Whittler I was gifted by our very own fellow forum member Will Power. Got that great knife about one year ago. :)

Have you thought about fitting a cord like on your folder sheaths r8shell? Sometimes I carry a small FB like that, either in my front pocket suspended from belt or belt-loop, or tucked in my waist-band with a tether round my belt

Have I thought about it, Jack? Have I thought about employing a simple solution like that? A simple solution that I have, in fact, used in the past with great success?

Um, for some reason (my brain), I had not. :o

Thanks for reminding me that I'd already solved this problem. :D
I just fashioned a cord with a knot that slides behind my belt and what do you know.
What works for a slip-joint pocket slip works for a fixed blade pocket sheath, as well.

I was hoping to get some more pics of my Davison today, but had so many mishaps, disasters, bad news, and general %$&*@# that I gave up on that idea! :grumpy: Was glad to have it with me though :)

Hope your day improves. When all else fails, go back to bed and start over.

Primble, those are some mighty fine looking knives!! Did they come with sheaths?

Good looking pair Primble, do tell how you like them in time. I'm a fan of any maker who still forges their blades. I thought long and hard about one of Lon's fixed blades but settled on a BRK adventurer (a nod to Murray Carter as a Yoshimoto bladesmith) instead for motorcycle carry.

Those lanyard holes for the FF are always spon on Gevonovich, they remind me of skate bearings.

Mark, FANTASTIC fixed blade Brother:cool:

Rob, two beauties in their own right but man you make knives look AMAZING!!!

Gev, love your fiddleback, I had the same handle package as that in the Karda---foolish me sold it---I do that often...sellers remorse:o Is yours the Bushboot?

Jack, always a beautiful carry;) Hope your day works out for the best---rec'd a package from you today, thank you buddy!!!!---more to report later:thumbup:

Oiled bone Fremont Jack along with orange ALOX Rancher for my carry today:thumbup:

Primble... I have owned several Humphrey knives over the years. In fact, his was my first real custom knife. Now I have bunches of fixed blades and I still have one of his... the Muley and I love it!!! Great choice. BTW... she is missing her "mouse chewed" friend. :-(

Blessings
Todd
