What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

I'm fortunate enough to have a few fine knives, and there's always a lot of impressive knives on view here. Yet today I fancied a simple, rather rough knife, it does it all.

Thanks, Will.

I like that one Will. I'm a big fan of the Sodbuster style. What scale material is used on that? Looks like wood?

Will, Nice Arbilito,
I'm not really into sodbusters myself, but I have a friend who collects and uses them a lot. He bought one of those Argentina-made Bokers and couldn't stop telling me about the "magic steel" :D I know what he means, when the edge retention / ease of sharpening ratio is just right.

Carrying my Vic Alox Rancher today. (can't find the picture just now, but trust me it looks fine)

Yes, the master was a spear, reground into a clip and added a swedge. Also the top corner of the coping was rounded to make it more of a sheepfoot.

Thanks, Paul, appreciated!

Wow. I wouldn't have guessed and wouldn't have dared. Nice work.

And thanks, Jack. It needed a little filing down, but it was easier than cutting out something that small or sawing off something that big.

^ Cool patina Peter .

A dirty fixed blade, and I need to re-burn one end of the leash on this Farmer, but I am totin' these today.

Finally found one of my grail knives, a Camillus Army Post Exchange knife.

It's been eluding me since I started collecting Camillus knife patterns from WWII era and is a perfect Thirsty Thursday carry:

Very nice find. Congrats.

As of today I'm carrying my imperial Barlow, yesterday I started out with my schrade 340t and than a buck stockman.

Thanks for the pics bleh! That's a great looking knife:D does it have good snap opening and closing?

Yeah, it's pretty solid. The seller apparently slathered it in gun oil and it's still working some gunk out of the joints, but it's getting snappier and snappier. I have the blades sitting with a coat of WD-40 on them right now, I plan to hit them with some steel wool after lunch to see what I can break free. Over all it's in much better shape than the listing's pictures suggested. I'm riding the fence on how much to clean it up, so I'm taking it slow.
