...GT, that 85 really nice but I've got to admit, that keen cutter has my undivided attention

is there a chance we could get some more pics of it and some sizes on it please?
Thanks

Ryan
...5k q's, your KK looks great, so simple. My mission lately has been to track one down. I almost got lucky a few weeks back when I found a couple in knife shop, but they were both large trappers, my least favorate pattern and much larger than I like to carry.
Thanks for your interest, Ryan and Erik!

I really knew nothing about Keen Kutters until Markesharp generously sent me a couple and I've started to try to get some background. The one pictured is 3 3/8" closed, with the blade 2 1/4" tip-to-kick. The tang stamp is the usual Keen Kutter "wedge" with E.C. Simmons in the top curve and St. Louis, MO in the point of the wedge at the bottom. As I understand it, that logo was used from about 1900 until 1940, when Simmons was bought by Shapleigh (at which time Shapleigh replaced Simmons at top of logo). The opposite side of the tang is stamped with what looks to me like 1105 1/4; a model number, I suppose, but I haven't been able to get any useful Google hits on that so far. Here's the only other photo I have so far, Ryan.
GT, Now that's a funny image...an aging, fat Lone Ranger!!! The poor horse

...
Paul, I was picturing you tooling around on an ATV yelling, "Heigh-Ho, Silver!"

I've been trying to avoid the word "fat" to refer to the bulge I've developed around my middle in the past 6 months; I say I'm centering myself.
New to the forms today. Carrying a Case yellow cv trapper and a Alaskan Guide Buck 110
Welcome, tj3; sounds like you carry some classics!:thumbup:
Thanks GT! I am resigned to thinking that particular city knife is just not very photogenic

. I have 3 different sheaths for my city-knife-and-other combos

. The sheath pictured today is not waterproofed, and is a much lighter color than my other main sheath.
Your 85 is simply STUNNING
Thanks for the follow-up info and the compliment, Tom!

I was sure stunned when Paul sent me that 2-bladed EO teardrop with buffalo horn covers! H

LY C

W!!
...Thank you my friend

I do have a few nice pocket slips I think, the one pictured yesterday was made by Barry and I won it in one of his generous giveaways, and I also have another Barry made, which was very thoughtfully commissioned for me by Stephen and sent as a gift

I have another which r8shell made, in which I carry the Camillus BSA Whittler I won in her giveaway, and another which Thom (ScruffUK) made for me

I have a few others too, but I don't treasure them in the way I do these

GT, those are lovely knives you're carrying this week

...
Thanks for reminding me of some of your splendid pocket slips, Jack, and thanks for the compliments on my knives. (I don't deserve compliments on the knives, since they were fantastic gifts, but at least I have the good sense to carry them!

) VERY fine Joseph Rodgers stockman today, Jack!:thumbup:
Viper and 1950's Imperial Hammer
...
Mark, I want to join many others in complimenting you on the cool finish on your Viper's handles!

But can you provide more details on the Imperial???

That knife intrigues me! Is it some kind of auto-opener with the button? Are the covers scrimshaw on plastic, or are the handles "higher class" than the Imperials I remember from my youth?
I haven't posted here in a while. Here's my first traditional I bought myself, first GEC, and first Barlow. I've used this thing well, and it shows. There's a chip and some scratches in the bone, a couple dings and countless scuffs on the bolsters, and I've lowered the kick from having too heavy a hand on some sharpenings. Still looks, and cuts, great
.
I like the way your well-used knife looks!!:thumbup:
Carrying two ebony beauties today, a GEC #38 and a Cattaraugus #95:
(also known as the hot dog and the bow tie)
...
VERY nice, Jordan; I especially like that sleeveboard Cattaraugus! It's gorgeous!

New Queen scout along for the ride today.
...
Another great photo and pairing, Tom.:thumbup: You really brought out the jigging on the scout. Is that called stag bone?
YOWZA!! The handles are AFLAME!!

:thumbup::thumbup:
As usual, I'm carrying these 3 knives this week (and almost every week): a Vic Electrician, a chestnut bone Sodbuster Jr., and a Delrin peanut (thanks to gregc, BigBiscuit, and Cory Hess

).
