Tim and Rob have found the magic of the 92. It appears most abstract however the aesthetics belie the ergonomics.

^ Very eloquently stated Joe!

Ron, that's my favorite of the Beaver Tail series. I only have the 48 with the Brazilian Cherry wood.

Got this in the mail today and into the pocket it goes
The mini trapper is a perfect gentleman size for me at 3 1/2" closed
I love a peanut and this mini trapper is like an over grown one but single blade
It fits my hand and grip MUCH better than a peanut too
No doubt, I'm really going to enjoy this one

I looked at the line on the mark side scale under high magnification and see that it's not a crack. It's not mobile any where either. I don't have enough experience with handle material to know what it is, but it's not a crack. At least not that I can tell ... and not yet Lol

For now I think the line, while I wish it weren't there, just gives it character of natural material. Not beautiful character, but character. And if it ever was a crack, it VERY stable now.

I mean, surely it isn't a crack? This is a new old stock unused knife. Who would put a cracked scale on the mark side? I kinda feel the cutler must have given thought to it and purposely selected this scale for the mark side for what ever reason ... dunno and prolly never will

My precious Joel Chamblin and a little EO Imperial trinket knife I brought back to life...

Man that Joel Chamblin looks so good I had to search the forums for more. What a masterful cutler.

Our wings were clipped by some bad weather today, but I took Earl for a trip round the Yorkshire towns of Harrogate, Knaresborough, and Otley :)

I managed to get this pic of Earl from the walls of Knaresborough Castle before the rain came :)

Jack that photo is really great, I keep trying to focus on the background and it really makes me want to see it in person.

Quick snap of the boy's knife again before doing a moving day

Tim, one of my favorites, my daughter gave me a rust red clip blade 15 boys knife but it has the nail nick and I don't know if I was lucky but it is perfect in every way.

Beauty of a 53 BeaverTail, you keep coming up with fantastic knives. I really loved the redbone case trapper also.

What an inspirational quote... new day today and everyday!

Great way to start a new day, really nice TC

Another great one lambertiana, I always admire your collection.

Excuse the old photo:o

Thank you sir !!! I've really been enjoying it. It's a great size and weight for casual wear.
The line which actually may be a crack on the mark side bothers me but not as much and certainly not enough to not carry and use the mini trapper.
I "made it mine" by using a Discoid-Cleoid dental carver and further incorporating the line into the jig pattern.
I put a ton of pressure into the line while carving and it neither widened nor moved. It's very stable but a visual hot spot distraction.
There are still several available and I may (or may not) get another more visually appealing one. The fit, finish and walk 'n talk is real nice on this mini trapper ... there's just that dang "crack"

Fortunately not!:D:thumbup:

I think GEC's faux Tortoise is super material, glad to see it re-appearing on the Beerscout just this week.
