What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Large Case CV Stockman and Medium Case CV Stockman.

I am having some problems deciding that I can carry just the smaller knife and be perfectly fine.

I think I'll go the same route tomorrow and maybe leave the Large Stockman in the truck when I get to work. I guess that way if I decide that I "need" to carry the larger knife, then it's just a matter of walking outside and getting it.

Uhhh, dilemmas. I'm really hoping that this knife-buying thing is just a phase and I will eventually be able to stick with something.

a new arrival
Canal Street "half moon trapper" in aberdeen bone and 14-4CrMo steel (latrobe's 154cm) #161

very nice knife, sharp out of the box
has some play and I hammered the bolster genlty (will sand it a bit)

I've been carrying both of these since the sunfish arrived. Just can't leave the backpocket behind. Now that the sunfish is starting to get broken in I might leave one or the other at home. Man that thing was a bear to open for days, I almost ripped my thumbnail off the first try.

GEC Tidioute Sunfish. I can't get the pattern out of my head or out of my pocket recently. It has just been fitting with the EDC Chores I'm putting it through.

I have had a Custom Sunfish from SunfishForge ping my radar over in the Custom subforum...It's so beautiful it haunts my screensaver on my ipod.

<sigh> Someday.

I started the day carrying my Rough Rider Barlow

but i finally went out and bought a Buck 301 and i expect it will be sitting in my pocket for the forseeable future

now i just gotta see about posting pics

Lol.... good luck with that.

Ha, I knew I could count on somebody saying something like that.

Today: Amber Bone Case Medium Stockman in CV.

I don't think the new DW Buck 301 is feeling the love though, so depending on how hair-shaving razor sharp I can manage to get it on the Sharpmaker here in a little bit, I will more likely than not carry that tomorrow. But I'm just speculating. I've been known to change my mind in the morning right before I walk out the door and throw a planned carry to the side in favor of an old favorite sitting on the desk taunting me!

Going vintage today. This is an early 1900's C.F. Wolfertz & Co Swell End Jack. I cleaned it up and it has very nice pull and snap.

Thanks! I'm very happy with how well his knife has held up for being so old. Very robust design with a nice thick back spring on the spear blade. The blade shape is very close to the new GEC sprear dogleg I just picked up. There are some sharpening marks up the side of the main blade but the pen blade looks like it has never been sharpened. I tried some basic touch-up on stones but it really needs some reprofile time to get it to the sharpness that it deserves.

Nice Wolfertz. Of all the different celluloid used back then, this green waterfall celluloid may be my favorite.
