What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Today it's a Schrade -Uncle Henry 4 blade congress w/staglon handles, and a small Winchester pen knife. Both smaller than what I usually carry, but good for chores nonetheless.

Nice Wolfertz. Of all the different celluloid used back then, this green waterfall celluloid may be my favorite.
Was wondering what material that was. Pardon the pun, but that's a sharp looking knife, tomsch. As you say, the new N'field #56 spear blade shape looks awful close to that one.

Going vintage today. This is an early 1900's C.F. Wolfertz & Co Swell End Jack. I cleaned it up and it has very nice pull and snap.

Very nice vintage example! The celluloid looks like it has help up very well.

Thanks, Ken. You're always invited back to enjoy any of the others in my collection.

It's a nice knife especially since Ken and I got to put our heads together on the project and his dad's (70's vintage) Case 6292 "Texas Jack" was used as the basis for the pattern.

(I requested the change of jigging from Case's to Ken's own "winterbottom" style and, of course, the modified. pen.)

Brian, that KH is FINE! Beautiful knife that knows how to work and is getting the opportunity. It's obviously been doing more than just sharpening pencils though. Good photo to. - Ed

Tomsch, that is the very best waterfall cell I've ever seen. Not that I've seen a lot of it, but that is really nice. I'd definitely buy a knife with that handle material today if they were made.

I've got a couple of medium/smallish Boker stockman patterns with bone or stag scales that are pretty easy on the pocket. One is bigger than the other, but the stag sticks out a little much for slacks. Either is fine in jeans.

I usually have a Squirt Leatherman on my keys too.

Thanks Ed. It certainly is a great handle material and looks beautiful in person. The only sign that the knife has even been used is that a previous owner laid the blade flat on a stone and put some grind marks over the logo. Not bad though.

Back on the "vintage" track is a Queen Cut single blade jack. Not sure how old this is but when I got it there was quite a bit of blade wobble. This was my first attempt at giving it a whack with a hammer to remove the play and it worked well.
