What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Very nice. Tell me, that lanyard on the Viper - what do they call those kind of knots? doesn't look like a snake knot.

I watched a video on you tube on how to make a Chris reeves lanyard knot. It's a leather boot lace that I add mink oil to every so often. I hope this helps.

super sweet - I'll look for that.

I just recently bought a knife from a member and it came with a lanyard tied like that. I'm typically not a lanyard kind of guy, but on that particular knife it's great. Want to add them to a few of my other knives but wasn't sure what to look for. A few searches for "lanyard knots" mostly returns Diamond, Snake, Cobra, etc.. but couldn't find this exact one.

thanks again!

Thanks, Tim. I do like the swedgieness ( yeah, I said swedgieness... :D ) of this one. I just wish it came with the CV blades.
I like the looks of that fixed blade. Looks like a dang useful design.

How long did it take the coppersmith to look all pretty like that?! I want one but the new copper is too "nice" for me.

Thanks for the compliment Crowemag. Some folks like it bright copper, but...

My wife made a water mix of epson salts, miracle grow and ammonia when we were planting the garden this spring. It only took a couple days of work in the garden. I got seedlings out of the container slit the sides of the clump of roots with the coppersmith clip blade and scooped up some of the liquid she made and on down the row. the dirt and salt mix made for a mess eventually but I did notice the start of the patina. I liked the look. Some of it rubbed off when cleaning...so at the end of the second day added some on a napkin and wrapped it around the bolster and let it heat up in the sun. I have a bronze watch that I patina'd with sulfur of egg gel and added a tiny drop to the mix also. Since then just sweat patina and an occasional car wax coating.

here's pic after that...

TIM nice addition to the fixed arsenal and congrats on the GAW

How bout this beauty again? Miss her? I missed carrying the Cross by Jared Oeser. Great knife and it reminds me of why I live!

Nice contours on that and the Cross is pretty cool, nice photo too

Swaybacksteve that Ka-Barlow looks great! I just might have to look into one of those. It is a shame they didn't use carbon steel. Two different materials developing patinas would have looked really cool.

Apologies for the "multiplex" image, taken for a different thread —

It's the little guy in the middle, a Camillus Army Engineer's knife. (The others: Bridgeport hatchet and a Condor Kephart, both traditional enough, I guess, but not on board today.)

beautiful Ka-bar Coppersmith Steve, I've been meaning to pull the trigger on one of those. That or their half moon trapper in the 14 cr Mo steel if it ever comes out..;)
Thank you Steve, I'm ecstatic with this one.

Likewise, I looked it up and was a bit bummed that it only came in SS from Case. Thank you it's been used a plenty today :D

I've fallen (behind) and I can't catch up with this thread! :( Too busy trying to wrap things up so we can go away for vacation starting on Saturday. Her are a couple of knives I've been totin' this week:
