My wife made a water mix of epson salts, miracle grow and ammonia when we were planting the garden this spring. It only took a couple days of work in the garden. I got seedlings out of the container slit the sides of the clump of roots with the coppersmith clip blade and scooped up some of the liquid she made and on down the row. the dirt and salt mix made for a mess eventually but I did notice the start of the patina. I liked the look. Some of it rubbed off when cleaning...so at the end of the second day added some on a napkin and wrapped it around the bolster and let it heat up in the sun. I have a bronze watch that I patina'd with sulfur of egg gel and added a tiny drop to the mix also. Since then just sweat patina and an occasional car wax coating.
