What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Superb, Kris! The Jack Russell is such a nice knife to carry and use. The stag and Damascus on your whittler is just awesome.

Thanks Gary, as you know the Jack Russell is a great design and Joel is one of the top all around knife makers of his time, IMO.

Day 7 of my wharncliffe week:

That is a beauty, Lhpanther, thanks for sharing. You posted some great wharncliffe's all week.

With the excitement over my new 77 I've been neglecting my 83 so I'm giving it some pocket time today. It really is a wonderful little lockback.

^^^ I agree! Carried one of mine yesterday. Easy to get caught up in the new ones sometimes. We are spoiled for choice

Thanks Kris! I think you are well aware of my thoughts about your collection :) My name should be coming up soon on Joel's list....so many choices but that fireclone Damascus has had my attention since the day you first posted you whittler.

Thanks Jeff. My sentiments too, a barehead knife with a flared end gives great grip and comfort in the hand. Looks kool moreover but it's a rarity, scarce materials like Stag or Primitive Bone sometimes have it but not so with woods or bone, more's the pity. Wish GEC would start offering the Primitive Bone again as it has immense character & variation, but I must infer that they've run through their stash of it:eek::grumpy:

Regards, Will

Thanks for the kind comment Jack.

The pen is a Case Eisenhower. I had it on the pile side for the picture, not on purpose though.

Very good shot of the NF 77 and Schatt Heritage Rosewood, I have the Schatt and the 77 is on its way so this was particularly useful for me thanks.

Regards, Will

Pretty nice balance on that one !!!

That was my thought exactly, Primble! And it's true - these LT's are super light, perfectly balanced, and quick in hand. I like it so much, I had to get another one... This one is in maroon linen micarta:

Cannonball, that picture does a great job of capturing the grain of the micarta!

I really want to pick up one of the 83s in OD micarta to compliment my 73.
