What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

REDO4_zpszn6ai7wo.jpg

Stephen - It is great to see you back today!! :D

What's the worst that could happen? :D

The blade isn't an even color. After the vinegar, I used it to cut up those onions, so it's a more natural looking patina now. I could always go back with more.

I did the backspring, too. I made sure to scrub it with baking soda afterwards to prevent rust. Then lots of oil, of course. I like it

Rachel - IMO I think it has wonderful character!:thumbup:

Thanks John, fine looking Erickson.

A whittler, trapper and an SAK today

Have a great Sunday folks

Kris - What a nice trio! Have a good one! :D

I got this Queen City from Bob a couple of weeks ago on the exchange. Between working and raining this is the 1st chance I have had to take a picture that actually does this Rosewood justice, I think!
IMO this may be the best F&F and overall quality, with the exception of the thick edge grind, I have seen on a Queen in awhile! Thanks BigBiscuit! :D

I had this one on me today when I took the pup out to the corgi meetup/dog park. Platinum edge and go Patriots ;)

I've been out playing golf with my son for a while today while you guys blew up this thread with fantastic knives.......Very nice everyone!:eek:

Here is my carry along with my secret weapon, a vintage ladies putter......Whatever works!!!!!:)

Really great to see you post Stephen. Hope you're well my friend

Thanks Jack! I've been well, and hope that you have been as well. :)

Good to see you, Stephen:D Some nice tight grained ebony on that one:thumbup::thumbup:

Thanks Gev! I've missed hanging out here with you guys. The ebony lambsfoot was a gift from Jack that I find myself carrying often.

Good to see you back Stephen. Your posts have been missed (by me anyways ;)).

:) Much appreciated Bob. I've had a lot going on for the past few months, but hopefully things are beginning to get back to normal. I'll be traveling again this week, but hope to post more often going forward.

Stephen - It is great to see you back today!! :D

Thanks Ron. It's great to be back and to hear from you too.

Too many nice knives to comment on all of them.
...
Gotta agree with Erik here, especially since I'm trying to catch up from Wednesday!!

Thanks GT! Wonderful horn on that Joker! :)
Thanks, Ron. :)

Gary, thank you for your compliment today and yesterday as well...you surprised me pointing out the Wolverine colors...sacrilege for an Irish fan:eek: All I thought about while carrying this duo was what my Art teacher Mrs Byberg taught me...Blue and Yellow make green, so in a way, there is an Irish color from the two:D

Love that Joker and the sentimental meaning it must hold for you:thumbup:
Well-played with the color theory, Paul! :D:D
Thanks for the Joker compliment. :) I don't think of myself as a real sentimental guy, but a surprisingly large percentage of my knives have sentimental value for me!:o Of course, that includes all my Spanish knives with their connections to my daughter!

How is the spring of your Joker?? Mine is soft :(
stef142, I have 3 Jokers, and I certainly wouldn't say they have soft springs; they're quite "snappy".

The covers on your knife are incredible!!:cool::eek:

Only the "Very Best" from Marko!!:eek:

A storm is passing through and I felt it appropriate to get a quick picture to match the storm in my heart... Thank you, Marko!!

Wonderful OVB, Gev!:thumbup: Mark's amazing!

...Thanks a lot GT, long, tiring trip, but it included a good visit with Stan Shaw...and Sausage Pie and a pint in 'The Fat Cat' ;)
...Thought I'd carry my Trevor Ablett today.

Glad to hear your Sheffield trip went well, Jack! I've never had sausage pie, but it sounds delectable to me! :p

I was sorry to hear that the talented Mr. Ablett passed away; carrying that beautiful example of his work was a thoughtful tribute.

...Thanks. I think I've got all my errands done today, and I'm looking forward to holing up in the house all weekend. Maybe sit on the porch and watch the rain. Maybe make a pot of chili. That would be the way to start a patina on my Yellow Rose 83.
... :D
Let us know when it's ready, Rachel! :D:D Chili, sausage pie, peppers - good eats!

Freddie Franks Found a Few Fantastic Fish on Friday, now Frozen.
Prior to that, Peter Piper Picked a Peck of Peppers to Pickle.
Meanwhile, Mark Makes Marvelous Mini Machetes as a Means to Make Mouthwatering Pickled Peppers from the Peck of Peppers Picked by Peter Piper.
Pickled Peppers Pair Perfectly with Fresh Fried Fish. A Magnificent Mixture when Masticated as an aMalgamation.

:p:D I might enjoy alliteration a bit too much.
:D:D

This little yellow Case pen knife rode with me today.

I've bought into all the love that Peanuts get around here, but I have to confess that a penknife like yours should have all the advantages of a Peanut, and IMHO, the penknife is better looking!:thumbup:

Fantastic A. Wright and Son, Jim!

Carrying a NYKC Hammer Teardrop and a Case XX gifted to me by my good friend Jon Slider. Thanks Jon! :)

That's a spectacular pair, Mark! :cool::cool:

...Tony (T_MAC686) inspired me to carry my chestnut bone Soddie Jr today.

What a fabulous pic, Erik!:thumbup: I REALLY like the coloring of the handles on your knife, with the red highlights on the edges of the handles all the way around!:cool:

Great to see your Powderhorn again, Duane!:cool: Don't think I've seen it quite that way before, though! What came first, the knife or the tattoo?

...Have a great Sunday everyone

Really enjoy seeing your buffalo WLST, Jack!:cool:

A Moose loose on the streets of Evansville is unusual, I'll bet!! :p Cool pic, Shane!:cool:

Good to see you back Stephen. Your posts have been missed (by me anyways ;)).
+5K! :thumbup::thumbup:

...A whittler, trapper and an SAK today

Have a great Sunday folks
Kris, your Chamblin whittler reminds me of the start of that old Queen song "Bohemian Rhapsody": Is that a real knife? Is that just fantasy??

Some of my knives for this last week in October:
An Imperial Ireland stockman

A Rough Rider medium trapper AND a RR full-size trapper (the large trapper is too big for my tastes, but I can't just let it sit in the house, can I?)

A Rough Rider "work knife" (the RR version of a Sodbuster Jr, I think)

Hope all y'all have a wonderful week!

Great to see your Powderhorn again, Duane!:cool: Don't think I've seen it quite that way before, though! What came first, the knife or the tattoo?

- GT
HA ha, it's funny, but I've been in a bit of a rut lately, carrying mostly the Powderhorn or the ebony Ludwig Groten . The tat has been a part of me for many years now, Pre-dating my Blade forum membership by quite a stretch...

Thanks Jack! I've been well, and hope that you have been as well. :)

Yes indeed Stephen, and all the better for seeing your post my friend

Glad to hear your Sheffield trip went well, Jack! I've never had sausage pie, but it sounds delectable to me! :p

I was sorry to hear that the talented Mr. Ablett passed away; carrying that beautiful example of his work was a thoughtful tribute.

Really enjoy seeing your buffalo WLST, Jack!:cool:

Thanks GT, I don't think I've had Sausage Pie since I was at school, but it was very nice - particularly with a pint ;)

Carrying my Wheatley Brothers Tackler's Knife today :)
