What "Traditional Knife" are ya totin' today?

Together with my Presidential, this is what I carried today.

Beautiful. I have this same model with Autumn leaf jig bone in transit to my greasy paw. Oh the anticipation!

Same thing for the last couple of days...
I needed to give the rotation of 77s a break to check out the new Bullnose (however, it's still paired with a Pioneer).

Thanks GT! :D My girlfriend had to go to Estonia with her work the other week, brought me back a few presents, including a wooden butter knife. It's made from 3 layers of wood, juniper I think, the spiral design is apparently very traditional to Estonia.

LOL! :D

They all look pretty to me GT :) That Winchester is a stunner
Thanks for the Estonian butter knife info, Jack; very cool!
Thanks for the movie link (and the trailer in a later post). I stand by my original opinion: creepy (but kind of fascinating). I suppose your affinity for lambsfoot and sheepsfoot blades accounts for your attraction to this cinematic masterpiece? :D
Thanks for the compliments, too, sir! :)

...@5K Qs : There is a traditional cutlery in most towns, where you find the local(s) knives. Thiers is where the heart beats and many maker's shop to drool! I can give you some addresses depending where you wannago.
I visited my daughter in Spain a year ago, and she took me to several towns around the country. I was able to locate knife shops everywhere we visited, and she acted as my translator/negotiator. It was a wonderful part of my visit, and I went home with 7 Spanish knives as mementos of my Spanish holiday.
I'd LOVE to do something similar in France some day, but for now, it's just a pleasant dream! Thanks for your offered assistance, Jolipapa - very kind!

Especially the right blue.

I'll certainly grant you that, ma'am!

...Gary - Teaching is a rewarding and noble profession! :) That Winchester definitely has personality! A great knife!
...Since it is Wednesday I am going to be Totin' 2 knives today, something I rarely do. One with and one without........wood! :D

Thanks, Ron. :) So that knife with the beaver shield is jigged wood?? VERY cool!

I'd say so GT, those all look like great options for the week ahead. I'm partial to doglegs myself, very nice Winchester and navaja~
Thanks, Tim. Both knives elicit great memories for me!

...GT - thanks for your kind words ! I really like the black box Winchesters. ;):)
Thanks, Primble. :)

Thanks for the comment GT. It's a Schrade 980T.
...To get into the Christmas spirit with some Christmas colour, I'm carrying these two today.

Thanks for the ID on the 98OT, Ken. Something about the green on some old Remingtons, like your Barlow, always resonates with me for reasons I don't understand!:confused:

Couldn't agree more GT, the Porch is hitting it out of the park!
...GT - that Navaja really caught my eye, looking forward to more pics of that in the future :)
...
Office party (= forced jocularity:) ) for me today, I thought these would be appropriate.

Thanks, Tom. :) I really enjoy photos like yours today that show off matching covers that folks have selected for their daily carries!

Just got this in the mail & carried it into work. Had to do a little show & tell. I won this on Black Friday from the A Time To Be Thankful thread.

Hey, I remember Jake writing that he was gonna send you a knife, and I'm always curious about what knives "change hands". Thanks for showing us what you got, Jamie; that's a stunner! Way to go, Jake!

P's bed tonight ! :eek::eek:;):D

Beautiful complementary curvature on that old beauty, Gev!

Thanks especially for all the compliments on the Winchester I posted this morning. That was an amazing gift from Paul Hilborn, whose generosity is legendary! Splendid bone on that knife; here's another photo.

That is a smoking hot Winchester, Gary!! It's hard to type anything with my cat sprawled out on the desk in front of me...lol

Gary - Thanks, it is Jigged Wenge wood! Love that Winchester! Paul is a very generous person, a virtue that is very common here on the porch! :D

Böker sportmesser today. I've had this for couple of days. The bail weirds me out a bit due the fact that it's at the main blade pivot opposed to the smaller blade pivot. The bail could be attached a little better from the other side but it is solid and I think it's not going anywhere. Also I had to lower the tip of the spear as it was peeking out a little when closed (not a biggie, just my preference). Walk and talk is super smooth and the finish is overall very nice. Scales are hostaform, some sort of plastic. I would have loved the stag version too but I thought I'd see how they made these with 50€ cheaper price tag + black friday discount. That being said I don't mind the plastic, looks good to me! Overall very nice knife!

Thank you for sharing a picture of your new knife A.L. I wonder if they put the bail on the main blade end so that no blades will come in contact with it when they are closed? If so then it is a clever design feature!

That cranberry jigged bone is a beauty Ron I like that flat grey appearing on the blade.

Nice to see you Gold now :) Great looking Sportmesser, was wondering when you would post it up on the forums bud.
